Chair, Board of Trustees Dear Friends of Keystone College: As you all know, this is a special time for the entire Keystone community. Our 150th anniversary provides us the opportunity to celebrate all those things that make Keystone a special place.

We can reflect with great appreciation on the vision and courage displayed by Keystone’s founders. Their desire to establish Keystone Academy for their sons and daughters was indeed a bold step.

They did not know if their venture would succeed, either in the short or long term.

But they cast their fears aside and pursued their dream.

If only they could have known what a success they created. Today, a centuryand-a-half later, Keystone College has become a remarkable place that has literally changed the lives of thousands of people and contributed to the wellbeing of our community and our nation.

So, we should take time in our public and private moments to honor our founders and all that they accomplished. We also continue to forge our own future. We currently have a tremendous opportunity to help Keystone evolve into an educational leader for the remainder of the 21st century and beyond.

Our new president, Dr. Tracy Brundage, has shared her vision of creating opportunities for Keystone students as they enter a world, and a workforce, that is changing every single day. Of course, we will accomplish these goals without sacrificing our fundamental values and character.

But to do these things, we need the involvement of the entire Keystone community: administration, faculty, staff, and our talented and dedicated students. We also need the support of our alumni and friends. Your contributions and involvement make possible what would otherwise be impossible. In short, Keystone depends on you to be a part of our present and our future. Thank you for all you do, and will continue to do, to help Keystone prosper for another 150 years.

For 18 years, President Emeritus Dr. Edward G. Boehm, Jr., and former First Lady Regina E. Boehm dedicated their lives to Keystone College. In recognition of their unwavering commitment and leadership, the residence hall previously known as Keystone Commons was renamed as Boehm Hall and formally dedicated in their honor over Homecoming and Family Weekend in October 2017. The College made a variety of student-centered renovations to the residence hall, thanks to a generous contribution from former Keystone College Board of Trustees chair, Dr. Jack C. Cassell. John H. Harris Society In 1868, Keystone Academy was founded by a group a visionaries who wanted the youth in their community to have access to an education and a promising future.

In order to construct the first building, they scouted the 21 acres of land and selected the highest point, cutting through briars to reach the rocky knoll. For the next two years, members of the community came together to help with the construction and bring the vision into reality, until the building, now known as Harris Hall was completed in 1870.

This society, named after John H. Harris, who was a founder, benefactor and first President of Keystone College, appropriately reflects the steadfast commitment and the unwavering loyalty to our mission that our consecutive donors represent. We can never achieve alone, what we can together. The donations that you have made have served as the foundation for the future, and together you have built it brick by brick.
