MATT ALMOND, NATIONAL UNDERWRITING MANAGER MATT BEGAN his career at High Street Underwriting in 2014, looking after the Queensland broking market. He has since taken on the responsibilities of dealing with clients nationally, an arena to which he has handled the transition seamlessly. Matt believes in old-school business loyalty, and is regularly in touch with brokers, both electronically and in person, to ensure that the services he offers always go beyond expectation. He specialises in underwriting hard-to-place mining, construction and miscellaneous risks. Typically, Matt deals with scheme and facility development for brokers, scoping out custom solutions where requirements dictate a more tailored
result, as well as welcoming and converting new business enquiries. He liaises with the long-standing brokers and market informants connected to Lloyd’s of London to ensure that he, and consequently High Street, delivers up-to-date information, never falling behind the competition.
