NYDKC positivity week promoted self-esteem and self-confidence through positive acts that made everyone's day. These events are significant for our members to focus on themselves and what makes them and others around them happier every single day.

PHONE BANK FOR ISOLATED SENIORS DECEMBER 30TH
Our members learned how to make calls to seniors in NYC during the COVID-19 pandemic from attending this training program during the month. It aimed to call older adults in West Village with the partnership of Greenwich House.
MESSAGE ST. JUDE'S PATIENTS ONGOING
This is another event in which members can send nice messages to people in need. Members can send holiday messages to St. Jude patients to help make a difference in their everyone's days!

FREERICE ONGOING The United Nations World Food Programme, a humanitarian organization, is saving lives and building a better future for the hungry through an app that helps them afford grains of rice called Freerice.
How does Freerice work? It is a free app to download that allows everyone to donate 10 grains of rice to families in need by answering questions correctly playing a multiple-choice quiz game.

Our members can start transcribing or adding to a transcription of a document. Once you're finished with your work, another volunteer will review it. The transcript is then sent to the Smithsonian to be approved. It can be used immediately or undergo more revisions.
PROJECT GIVINGTHANKS ONGOING RAMIZAH TAYIBA
A group of high schoolers at Arcadia High School in California created Project Giving Thanks. They aim to spread positivity to essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
We asked our Key Club members to send post-it messages, artwork, and videos to essential workers, first responders, healthcare workers, and grocery workers. KELLY LIM
QUEENS MEMORY COVID PROJECT ONGOING
We asked our Key Club members to contribute by submitting their testimony, photos, and videos from home.
The Queens College Library and Queens Public Library created the Queens Memory COVID-19 Project, a borough-wide archiving campaign collecting personal stories of people in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.
