K-FAMILY PICNIC AUGUST 8TH
"The K-Family Picnic was a exciting event for a great cause! I learned a lot about Lyme Disease and we raised over $1500! The event was super fun! I got to meet a lot of people and I enjoyed watching people get pied :)"

The 10th ฤ?—”ฤ?—ลฅฤ?—ลฅฤ?˜‚ฤ?—ลฝฤ?—ลก ฤ?—ž-ฤ?—™ฤ?—ลฝฤ?—ลฤ?—ลฤ?—ลกฤ?˜† ฤ?—ลฤ?—ลฤ?—ยฐฤ?—ลฅฤ?—ลฤ?—ยฐ was virtual this year, which allowed members everywhere to meet the Kiwanis Family from the comfort of their own home! There were fun activities to raise proceeds that went towards the Pediatric Lyme Disease Foundation.
8-BALL FUNDRAISER AUGUST 23RD
We held our second fundraiser late August through discord once again! We played an 8-ball tournament with our members to raise money for the Thirst Project to help end the global water crisis.

The theme this year was activism in a digital age through a day of workshops, panels, and service opportunities virtually. The Chinatown Youth Initiatives hope to inspire the youth to take action from their own homes!
"This event was a informative and retrospective event that made me and many others more knowledgeable about the challenges that we face in society right now and how Asian Americans specifically can help. Topics include gentrification, model minority myth, and Black Lives Matter."

The New York and Pacific Northwest Districts of Key Club collaborated again to offer student leaders an amazing, interactive one-hour webinar. Our Key Clubbers learned advanced tips on how to recruit and retain members within a group.
In this webinar, the speakers broke down the secrets of recruitment and retainment of members and officers of a group. This helped our members learn about club service, leadership, fellowship, and impact to keep improving!

This new pen pal system strives to broaden our members' horizons and give everyone the opportunity to meet different people outside of our division and even another district! You may already have plenty of friends in Key Club already, but aren't you eager to expand your Key Club journey?
Signing up for pen pals will give you the opportunity to talk to someone new! Enjoy new friendships and connect to a bigger part of Key Club.

We had our fourth divisional on the 31st! Thank you to our Divisional Board and LTG, Alvin Ma, for another successful meeting! We were informed of ongoing and upcoming district/division updates, service hour opportunities, and other important events.

FREERICE ONGOING The United Nations World Food Programme, a humanitarian organization, is saving lives and building a better future for the hungry through an app that helps them afford grains of rice called Freerice.
How does Freerice work? It is a free app to download that allows everyone to donate 10 grains of rice to families in need by answering questions correctly playing a multiple-choice quiz game.
ฤ??’ฤ??Œฤ??ˆฤ??“ฤ??‡ฤ??’ฤ??Žฤ???ฤ??ˆฤ??€ฤ??? ฤ??ƒฤ??ˆฤ??†ฤ??ˆฤ??“ฤ??€ฤ??‹ ฤ??•ฤ??Žฤ??‹ฤ??”ฤ???ฤ??“ฤ??„ฤ??„ฤ??‘ฤ??’ ONGOING Smithsonian has digital volunteers to help make historical documents and biodiversity data more accessible!
Our members can start transcribing or adding to a transcription of a document. Once you're finished with your work, another volunteer will review it. The transcript is then sent to the Smithsonian to be approved. It can be used immediately or undergo more revisions.
PROJECT GIVINGTHANKS ONGOING RAMIZAH TAYIBA
A group of high schoolers at Arcadia High School in California created Project Giving Thanks. They aim to spread positivity to essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
We asked our Key Club members to send post-it messages, artwork, and videos to essential workers, first responders, healthcare workers, and grocery workers. KELLY LIM
QUEENS MEMORY COVID PROJECT ONGOING
We asked our Key Club members to contribute by submitting their testimony, photos, and videos from home.
The Queens College Library and Queens Public Library created the Queens Memory COVID-19 Project, a borough-wide archiving campaign collecting personal stories of people in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.

KEY CLUB HAS TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS LIKE BEING RESPONSIBLE BY ALLOWING ME TO TRACK MY TIME AND MANAGE MY TIME BETTER. I ALSO HAVE ATTENDED A LOT OF EVENTS THAT I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE, LIKE THE CHINATOWN BEAUTIFICATION DAY AND LEGACY SUMMIT. I LEARNED A LOT THROUGH THE EVENTS AND ALSO HAD A LOT OF FUN. I ALSO MET MANY NEW PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD THROUGH THIS CLUB DURING MEETINGS AND EVENTS. THIS CLUB ALSO HELPED ME TO BREAK THROUGH MY COMMUNICATION BARRIERS AND TAUGHT ME TO NOT BE AFRAID TO SPEAK OUT.
