Letter from the Associate Vice President Dear Valued Partners, This past year has given us a lot to be grateful for, and once again, our donors and partners have played an important part in what we’ve been able to accomplish.
Your support continues to make a real difference for Keyano students. Through awards, scholarships, and new endowments, you are helping students focus on their education, build their futures, and take the next steps toward their goals. This year we were able to give $789,039 through 453 student awards.
This year, we were also proud to see new opportunities for long-term student support take shape. Endowments established by our community ensure that your impact will echo far into the future, supporting generations of learners to come.
Looking ahead, we are excited to unite our community in a dynamic new way with Encore: A Signature Evening of Impact. This special event will celebrate the remarkable people, partnerships, and philanthropy that empower our students and enriches our region.
Keyano Annual Impact Report 2025-26
Throughout this report, you will meet some of the individuals behind the impact. Their stories demonstrate what is possible when a dedicated community stands behind its students.
To everyone who has supported Keyano this year – thank you. Your generosity transforms lives, and we are deeply grateful to walk this path with you as we build a stronger community. Together. Sincerely, Chantal Beaver Associate Vice President Public Engagement Keyano College

Northstar Ford Awards Investing in the Future of Trades A new partnership between Bouchier and Finning Canada is creating lasting opportunities for Trades students at Keyano. In 2025, the two industry leaders made a joint commitment of $50,000 to establish a new endowment supporting the next generation of trades professionals. The initiative also brought together the wider community through the Northern Lights Health Foundation Festival of Trees, where Northstar Ford secured the naming rights to the fund through the 2025 Finning Canada and Bouchier holiday tree auction. As a result, the scholarships will be awarded as the Northstar Ford Awards.
Recipients are selected by Trades instructors based on academic achievement helping remove financial barriers while recognizing excellence. “Bouchier is proud to work alongside Finning Canada on this endowment fund, bringing two strong brands together to empower women and Indigenous students in the skilled trades. This is how we build stronger communities and a more inclusive future.” -Nicole Bourque-Bouchier, CEO and Co-Owner, Bouchier “We see firsthand how critical skilled trades are to northern Alberta. This fund removes barriers so the next generation can access the training they need.” -Cheryl Gray, Vice President of Mining, Finning Canada
Beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year, the endowment will provide two annual $1,000 awards: · One award for a female First Nations or Métis student enrolled in any skilled trades program. · One award for any female student enrolled in a skilled trades program.
4
More than financial support, this endowment represents a shared investment in education, equity, and workforce readiness. Together, Bouchier, Finning Canada, Northstar Ford and Keyano are helping create opportunities that will strengthen students, industry, and the Wood Buffalo region for generations to come.

Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Endowed Award RECIPIENT: JORDI HAZEN Dear Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, I just wanted to say a genuine thank you for allowing me to be a recipient of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Endowed Award. I truly appreciate the support. This scholarship will make a big difference as I finish my nursing degree. Over the past few years, I’ve worked hard to maintain strong grades while also competing as
a member of the Keyano College Women’s Volleyball Team. Being part of a varsity team takes commitment, leadership, and teamwork- skills that carry over directly into nursing. Balancing practices, travel, games, and a demanding nursing program meant I wasn’t able to work during the school year, so managing tuition and living expenses has been challenging. Volleyball has taught me accountability, communication, resilience, and how to support a team under pressure- all qualities that are essential in healthcare. Nursing, like athletics, relies on strong collaboration and trust. I’m proud to bring that team-focused mindset into my future career. Your organization’s support for students based on both academic achievement and financial need truly reflects an investment in hardworking individuals who are committed to contributing to their communities. As someone studying in Fort McMurray, I understand how important industry and community partnerships are in supporting education and strengthening our region. This award eases financial stress and allows me to stay focused on completing my degree and preparing to serve our community as a Registered Nurse. Thank you for believing in students like me and for supporting our education. With gratitude, Jordi Hazen

I am truly honoured and deeply grateful to receive this generous support. continue striving for excellence every day, both in the classroom and on the field. Apex Distribution Inc. Indigenous Student Bursary RECIPIENT: KANDIS CHAFFEE Apex Distribution Inc. Team, I am deeply honored and sincerely grateful to be selected as a recipient of the Apex Distribution Inc. Indigenous Student Bursary. As an Indigenous student and a proud member of the Athabasca Fort Chipewyan First Nation, this award carries special meaning. It affirms the value of my hard work, dedication, and the dreams I hold for my future and for our community.
Your generosity is more than financial support, it is an investment in the future of Wood Buffalo. This bursary allows me to focus fully on my studies as I work toward becoming a registered social worker, and it strengthens my passion to bring healing, hope, and meaningful change to the community that has shaped who I am today. I am truly inspired by your commitment to supporting Indigenous students and our aspirations. Laurie Guthrie Award for Female Steamfitters/Pipefitters RECIPIENT: RICHELLE FAGUINNEY Dear Family and Friends of Laurie Guthrie, I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for selecting me as the recipient of the Laurie Guthrie Award for Female Steamfitters/Pipefitters . I am honoured and grateful for your generosity and for investing in students like me pursuing careers in skilled trades. My name is Richelle Faguinney, and I was a first-year student in the steamfitter/pipefitter program at Keyano College. Choosing a career in the skilled trades has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made. I enjoy hands-on work, problem solving and opportunity to build a meaningful career in the trades.
My goal is to become a Red Seal Steamfitter/ Pipefitter, continue growing in the industrial construction industry, and encourage more women to pursue careers in the trades. Receiving this award will significantly impact my education and financial well-being. It will help cover tuition, books, tools, and other educational expenses, allowing me to focus more on my training and achieving academic success. Like many students, balancing the cost of education with everyday living expenses can be challenging. Your generosity has not only provided financial assistance but also reminded me that there are people who believe in students like me and are willing to invest in our future. As a woman entering a traditionally maledominated trade, I have worked hard to prove that determination, dedication, and perseverance can overcome any obstacle. Your support gives me even more motivation, greater confidence as I continue working toward completing my apprenticeship and building a successful career. I hope and pray that one day, I will be in the position to give back to future students and support others in achieving their dreams, just as you have supported mine. Thank you once again for your kindness, generosity, and belief in my potential. I am deeply appreciative of this opportunity and will strive to make the most of it. God bless you Richelle Faguinney

I have long admired CNOOC International’s unwavering commitment to nurturing future leaders in STEM and Power Engineering, and to ensuring the world’s energy resources are guided by capable, responsible hands. Your dedication to safety, community, and education resonates deeply with me and fuels my passion, not only to excel academically,

NAABA All Trades Award RECIPIENT: LANDON BAILEY Dear NAABA, I would like to sincerely thank you for your generous support through this award. I am truly honoured and grateful to have been selected as a recipient. Your contribution has made a meaningful impact and has helped support me during an important stage of my education and career journey. I recently completed my technical training at Keyano College and am proud to have achieved my Red Seal Journeyman Welder certification. Completing this
milestone required dedication, hard work, and many hours of commitment, and I am grateful to have had the support and encouragement that helped me reach this goal. I am also excited to share that I have secured a permanent full-time position in my trade, allowing me to continue building my skills and growing within my chosen career. The financial support provided through this award helped ease some of the costs associated with my education and training. It allowed me to focus more on my studies and less on the financial pressures that often come with pursuing further education. Knowing that organizations and individuals are willing to invest in students and tradespeople like myself is incredibly encouraging and motivating. I truly appreciate the generosity, encouragement, and confidence you have shown through this award. Your support has played a part in helping me achieve my goals and begin the next chapter of my career with confidence. Thank you again for your kindness and for supporting students as they work toward their futures. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated. Sincerely, Landon Bailey
