Get Ready Wynnum. The inaugural Wynnum Fringe is happening this Nov 13-15 – and it promises to magically transform our seaside village with an explosion of creative and exciting talent. With the programme set, it boasts 50+ performances, 4 Pop-Up theatres and 3 outdoor stages, along with food trucks, bars and an online broadcast. Some of the performances you won’t want to miss are Shreklesque - a burlesque show dedicated to the best movie of all time. Musical acts include Songs My Aunties

Taught Me featuring Heru Pinkasova & beatboxer Dr Rhythm or Waiting for John with vocalists Mat Verevis, Mark Sholtez and Luke Kennedy. Enjoy dancing with Swing by the Bay or Those Tap Guys or laugh with comedian Damien Powers. Sunday afternoon with Colin Petersen who has a lifetime of stories including the time he starred in the title role of Smiley opposite Chips Rafferty and how he became a BEE GEE. There are also many FREE events happening in Edith Street on all three days. Enjoy food trucks, outdoor bars, art installations and pop-up performances including local performance artist Melon the Human (Thomas Stewart, pictured right).

You can register and purchase tickets online at www. wynnumfringe.com/tickets/ Tom Oliver, a Wynnum-based producer, performing artist, actor and singer and the driving force behind the fringe announced “A fringe festival is something really magical and I want to share that feeling with people”. He promises random and unexpected acts and artists, filling empty shopfronts, laneways, driveways and car parks with theatre, cabaret, music, art installations and circus performances.

Wynnum UPLATE Christmas Edition 2020 is billed to be bigger and better this year to coincide with the WYNNUM FRINGE. It is also a thank you to the local community who have been absolutely amazing in their support during 2020. On the Friday night (13th Nov), with the Fringe Festival opening, many of the local businesses along Florence Street, Edith Street and Bay Terrace will be open till 9pm tempting you to have all your Christmas shopping done on time and local.
