On Friday 5 May Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce hosted the Mother’s Day Fashion and Style Morning Tea at Wynnum Manly Yacht Club We had a sell-out event with 80 members and guests in attendance enjoying the fashion, fun and beautiful views.

Our MC Carlee Hay and stylist Ann Whitaker kept us entertained and provided us with fashion stylish tips that were simple and effective whilst fun and easy. The fashions were provided by our Manly Harbour Village Labels By The Bay and Ebb

& Flow Boutique with our models by FBME with models ranging from size 8 to 16.

Business Networking Trader Night

Tuesday 20 June the Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce held their regular Business Networking Trader Night attended by close to 40 members and guests. This event was jointly hosted by Keith’s on Cambridge and Manly Village Pharmacy

Our MC and Vice President Steve Rickertt opened the evening by introducing our two hosts Keith Hynes and Jessica Nguyen and her partners Tien and Di.

We were delighted to have a mini tour through the pharmacy and witness the dispensing robot in action. Jess further informed us of the great service that they provide to the local community.

From vaccination clinic, sleep apnoea consultations, baby clinic, onsite compounding, home visits for the elderly with their pharmaceutical needs.

The MHV Chamber of Commerce holds regular Member events where it’s a great chance to mix and mingle with those working and living in the Manly Harbour Village community

Owner Shanice has had the business for 14+ years and over this time has been a key employer for many local young people who are just entering the workforce. “It’s a real discipline to be up very early and know many different items for sale and give great customer service.” says Shanice adding, “It’s lovely to see them come back when studying or working in their careers.”

A Morteon Bay Boys alumni student Kai Liepins, now 25 years, recalls working as a youngster “Manly Bakery was my first local job and provided me with an amazing opportunity to learn customer service and hospitality skills within a small teamskills I still use today.”

THE MORETON BAY DISCOVERY CENTRE & MUSEUM

The Centre has recently installed a new wall of interesting facts about Dugongs in Moreton Bay, alongside our full-size adult Dugong. Visitors to the Centre can discover more about the FishID aquatic monitoring system, St Helena Island, Fort Lytton National Park, Shellfish reef restoration project by OzFish and Shorebirds. Children will find a small library of marine themed books and puzzles.

The Centre can be found on William Gunn Jetty just along from Manly Pool. Entry is through the adjacent Wynnum Manly Tourism & Visitor Information Centre, open 9am - 3pm, 7 days a week.
