On Friday 5 May Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce hosted the Mother’s Day Fashion and Style Morning Tea at Wynnum Manly Yacht Club We had a sell-out event with 80 members and guests in attendance enjoying the fashion, fun and beautiful views.
Our MC Carlee Hay and stylist Ann Whitaker kept us entertained and provided us with fashion stylish tips that were simple and effective whilst fun and easy. The fashions were provided by our Manly Harbour Village Labels By The Bay and Ebb
& Flow Boutique with our models by FBME with models ranging from size 8 to 16.

Tuesday 20 June the Manly Harbour Village Chamber of Commerce held their regular Business Networking Trader Night attended by close to 40 members and guests. This event was jointly hosted by Keith’s on Cambridge and Manly Village Pharmacy

We were delighted to have a mini tour through the pharmacy and witness the dispensing robot in action. Jess further informed us of the great service that they provide to the local community.

THE MORETON BAY DISCOVERY CENTRE & MUSEUM
The Centre has recently installed a new wall of interesting facts about Dugongs in Moreton Bay, alongside our full-size adult Dugong. Visitors to the Centre can discover more about the FishID aquatic monitoring system, St Helena Island, Fort Lytton National Park, Shellfish reef restoration project by OzFish and Shorebirds. Children will find a small library of marine themed books and puzzles.
The Centre can be found on William Gunn Jetty just along from Manly Pool. Entry is through the adjacent Wynnum Manly Tourism & Visitor Information Centre, open 9am - 3pm, 7 days a week.

A Passion for Wynnum
A love affair with the Wynnum Manly Bayside has been Margaret’s passion for over 25 years.
Originally from the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Margaret moved to Queensland in the late 1970s and has been a devoted Queenslander ever since. A background in the building industry led to Real Estate to accommodate family needs. Her love for the Bayside community
is apparent with involvement and sponsorship of many community groups. It’s a sense of “Giving to the Community that has given so much to me” says Margaret. She has a real joy in helping, which was evident when she became the initial sponsor for the Wynnum Fringe Festival. She recalls meeting with founder, Tom Oliver, and hearing his ‘crazy idea’ for a Fringe Festival. Her love of music and connection with Iona ‘old boy’ Tom, led her to be an inaugural sponsor of the Wynnum Fringe that proved a BIG success in the midst of a pandemic. coming up again later in the year. Margaret also has a special passion for the Manly Dragon Boat Club which she has sponsored for 10 years and paddled with them competitively for 5 years. Margaret is lucky enough to be participating in the International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championships (IDFCCWC) that is being held in Italy mid next year. Her giving has been recognised by Raine & Horne with the honour of winning the 2022 National Community Engagement & Excellence Award.
Margaret’s style, as Principal Agent and Owner of an established family real estate business, is to build trust and empathise with the buyer using her negotiation skills. Integrity is at the heart of working with any buyer and seller. She says she is “here to serve and look after the people she helps.”
A particular joy is the success of the Lato Baio and Cinema development in Berrima Street. The build had reached the 2nd floor when the COVID outbreak began but the apartments sold out within 6 months, with the majority moving from within 5-7kms. She is rightly proud of how she and her team put the development together and was personally involved in many of the sales.

The future of Wynnum is bright she says with a vibrant CBD growing with niche retailers, cafes, bars and restaurants. The music scene is burgeoning with regular events at D&W Republic and the new monthly Gigs on the Greene, held at Greene Park on Fox Street. It’s becoming a “Destination” says Margaret and a lifestyle choice for many. Margaret will continue to serve, connect and enjoy ‘her people’ with passion.
