Feel the wind in your hair as you set sail out of Manly Harbour for a day sail aboard South Passage, heading out across the bay towards the sand hills on Moreton Island or Horseshoe Bay on Peel Island. South Passage is Queensland’s own 30m Tall Ship launched in 1993, but built on the design of the 19th century pilot schooners that operated off the east cost of America. Experience the ship heeled over while you appreciate bygone sea-fearing days, or on the calmer days the bay is like glass and even more conducive to marine life spotting. Look out for dolphins, dugongs and sea turtles. Pack a picnic lunch, refreshments and swimmers to enjoy a dip. South Passage is almost totally reliant upon volunteers to crew her, however all passengers are welcome to join in and be “shown the ropes” or even take the helm under the skipper’s watchful eye.

Luke Hanson at My Financial Design suggests as an end of year tip to make financial choices with the future in mind. When you’re making decisions in November and December, keep January, February and beyond in mind too.
