Wynnum In The City Visit Wynnum Manly and Wynnum Central have both taken space on electronic billboards in Brisbane City. Advertising agency HRS offered the spaces to Wynnum Central for bayside businesses to be displayed on giant electronic billboards.
Wynnum Open For Business WynnumCentral has launched Shop Wynnum to help Wynnum Manly residents buy goods from their favourite Wynnum retailers, 24/7, and with FREE local delivery. Prices are exactly the same as you’d pay in the shop itself with WynnumCentral passing the entire amount (less the credit card processing fee) to the retailer. Any enquiries related to any purchase should be directed to the retailer. Wynnum businesses are up and running post the initial COVID lockdown. From retail to dining, medical and professional services, Wynnum is open to welcome customers, visitors and clients with new restrictions in place to ensure social distancing and good hygiene. Level 2 regulations issued by Queensland Government from 1 June allow flexibility on businesses to operate. These include gatherings of up to 20 people permitted at any one time: • in Retail shopping • dining in (with COVID SAFE Plan): restaurants, cafés, pubs,, registered and licensed clubs, RSL clubs, hotels and

Within 16 hours of release, the music video had nearly 2,000 views on social media with many positive comments from the dance and parent community. ‘The music video was a way to get kids working on something creative together, even though they are physically separated,’ says Bayside Dance Director Kaitlin Hague. ‘The joy and positivity it has generated has been amazing. It’s all part of Bayside Dance’s digital engagement strategy to keep kids dancing.”
Bayside Dance is currently offering all classes online. Students will return to the studio in part on 13 June, and the remainder in Term 3 on 13 July. Classes cater for ages 2 years to adult, and include ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, acro, musical theatre, tap, Zumba and more. Belinda Richards is the proud new owner at The Collective Store in Bay Terrace. Her dream is to continue the nine year history of The Collective Store supporting some amazing ethical Australian designers who juggle family and day jobs and commitments with passion projects and their dream of creating beautiful things in Australia. Finally add the ground Cardamom to the mixture, stir and simmer for approx 1 minute.
Stir continuously over a low heat combining the ingredients and bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer for approx 5-10 minutes.

Be careful so condensed milk that it doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pan. 1 1/2 cups of thickened cream Add the sultanas and the toasted flaked 1/4 cup sultanas (optional but almonds and stir gently for approx another recommended) 5 minutes. 1/2-3/4 cup of toasted flaked almonds If you’d like the consistency to be a less (optional but recommended) thick gradually add add a little more milk or Scant 1/4 teaspoon of ground green cream and stir. Cardamom Meanwhile, lightly toast the flaked almonds
Remove from heat and add the toasted almonds. This dish will thicken as it cools. Serve warm or cold garnished with pistachios and toasted flaked almonds. Enjoy this Kheer, a Bangoli Cardamom scented Sweet Creamed Rice supplied by the Bengal Curry House. Kheer is a lovely rich and warming winter dessert to enjoy after enjoying their cuisine. This is a quick version but just as tasty as the more laborious method. Enjoy!!

Bayside Dance has released a music video shot entirely in isolation to help their 500+ young students ‘dance through this’ difficult time. The song “Dance Through This” was written and produced by Bayside Dance staff. The video stars many of the school’s dancers, featuring footage shot at home.

Danielle has had a love for clothing from a teen, making clothes for friends and family and growing up with the influence of her mother who manufactured Manchester for David Jones. This led her to study pattern making and design at TAFE and a career in clothing manufacturing wholesale and retail. She opened her first clothing shop in a Browns Plains shopping centre, moving to Wynnum via a stint in Mt Gravatt. She preferred a more community-based outlet and lifestyle than a big shopping centre plus she says “It was closer to home and friends and by the water.”
Danielle describes Sobidah as “clothing for women size 8-18+ looking to feel great and build confidence from within”. Her clothing range specializes in natural fibres and colourful resort styling as befits the relaxed Queensland Bay lifestyle. Sobidah has become a staple of the Wynnum Uplate shopping evenings with its Fashion Show and catwalk complete with red carpet adorning the Bay Terrace footpath. Why the name Sobidah (Pronounced “So Bee Da”)? “I made it up”, she says adding, “after Googling it in English, I found it meant, gentle, feminine, calm in an Indian dialect. “My hair stood on end when I found this out.”

Wynnum Central News New owners of the Wynnum Central Shopping centre have transformed it into a hub for health and wellbeing. The centre – that housed an IGA before its closure – has added a host of health and other tenants adding a positive vibe to the Wynnum CBD and its economy. New owners the WATERLOO BAY HOTEL GROUP have, within just a year, added to the centre both on the inside and on the outside. They have taken a focus on health and wellness, with two gyms (one for kids) being some of the first new tenants in the centre. Although current restrictions mean that some of the new occupants are closed, the easing of restrictions means the centre is likely to burst back into life pretty quickly.
