What’s New A lot of movement in the Wynnum CBD and surrounds. The Wynnum Cinema complex has begun construction across from the WATERLOO BAY HOTEL with completion due in mid/late 2020. Hudson’s micro-Brewery has applied to open in premises at Gibbs Street just outside the main CBD. South ’87 is a hair salon with a difference operating as a café and plans to open evenings and serve alcohol from its salon in Bay Terrace. Near neighbour GiGGLEFiT GRAMMAR is offering a great mix of books, records and movies with late night openings to coincide with Wynnum UpLate. M4A1 has opened its latest store selling Gel blasters on the corner of Bay Terrace and Edith St. A new sushi bar and Vietnamese restaurant are set to open. Ben Woods from Ray White Commercial Bayside reports: • Griffith University Film School students have been shooting their final year project short film in the old Suncorp Bank, thanks to the support of the landlord. • Wiremu Perenara has opened his seafood / fish & chips at the old P&C Chicken. • The floor is almost ready for a new business at 121 Bay Tce.
Hague established the dance school in 2014 and it has since grown into a second home for around 600 students, aged two years to adult, every week. BAYSIDE DANCE’S earliest enrolled students will soon receive their five-year recognition. One five-year dancer, Sienna Scruton (13 years) says dancing at BAYSIDE DANCE makes her feel ‘Like I can express in my own unique way in a safe environment where everyone can be themselves.’ Happy 5th birthday, BAYSIDE DANCE! There are two crucial times needed for your sleep health. One is your time to bed, which should be around the same time every night. The second, and the most important, is your time out of bed in the morning – every morning. The brain’s sleep circuitry doesn’t care if it is Tuesday or Saturday or Thursday – all it needs to know is whether it is light or dark. Wake up at the same time every day – set an alarm if you need to – regardless of how much sleep you have actually had. Get up for the day within a few minutes of
waking (no snoozing). If you had a latenight last night, that’s ok, everyone does occasionally. Of course, you may be tired for the day, so ‘bank the tiredness’ for sleep tonight.
