Obituaries MICHAEL NAJUCH

Michael W. Najuch, 75, passed died Monday, June 21, 2021, at Clara Maas Medical Center, Belleville. Michael was born in Kearny, where he remained a lifelong resident. His career as a mechanic at TWA/American Airlines spanned 40 years. He greatly enjoyed all sports, the outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman. Michael loved planting gardens and proudly sharing his harvests with his family. Through the years, Michael made many local friends by assisting in renovating their homes. Michael was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Christina Najuch; devoted father of Diane Nunn and husband Laurence; loving son of the late Helene and Lewis Najuch; dear brother of Patricia McCormick and Ruth Najuch Dienemann and the late Stephen Najuch; cherished grandfather of Jake and Holly Nunn, as well as a fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was a proud provider for his family with a big heart and smile to match and he will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, Kearny, on Friday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 31, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, also in Kearny.

LUIS GARCIA

Luis Garcia, 56, of Kearny, died July 21, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited to attend to a visitation Saturday, July 31 at 9:15 a.m. at Stephen’s Church, 141 Washington Ave., Kearny followed by a memorial Mass in celebration of Luis’ life. Arrangements are entrusted to the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home. Born in Geneva, Switzerland, Luis moved with his family to Newark in 1969 before residing in Kearny since 1982. He owned and operated ClassAct Painting, LLC, Kearny, for many years. Luis was a man of deep faith and enjoyed time spent spreading the teachings of Jesus. He was always there to help people in need, especially those afflicted with addiction. Luis knew this was his true calling. He spent many days feeding the homeless in New York City and New Jersey, handing out food and being there for them during their difficult times. A beloved friend to many, Luis’ car club is planning a memorial drive and show in his honor. The son of Emilia and the late Luis Garcia, Luis was the beloved husband to Cristina Fernandez; loving father of Sonia Garcia and Cristina Garcia, dear step-father of Samantha Almeida and Amanda Buchanan, cherished brother of Jorge Garcia and his wife Lisa and Rosa Crowley and her husband Scot. NANCY M. HANSON

Nancy M. Hanson nee Mahony was born in Jersey City July 17, 1953 and died on her 68th birthday while residing at Masonic Village in Burlington. She previously lived in Kearny for 45 years. Nancy was predeceased by her parents Tom and Edith Mahony. A Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary (Never Known to Fail) O Most Beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in my necessity.
