Joshua Gonzalez, 24, of Hoboken, was arrested at approximately 11:10 a.m. by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force on Franklin Street in Bloomfield. Gonzalez was wanted in connection with the double stabbing July 5 in Jersey City that left one man dead and one woman injured. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit has charged Gonzalez with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, first-degree felony murder, burglary, unlawful Possession of a weapon (knife), possession of a weapon (knife) for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest by flight and violation of a restraining order. Following his arrest, Gonzalez was transported to the Hudson County Jail in South Kearny, pending his first appearance. Nnn On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at approximately 6:42 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department re-
sponded to Clinton Avenue on reports of an aggravated assault. Responding officers, there, found a 22-year-old woman with a serious apparent stab wound. The woman was transported by EMS to the Jersey City Medical Center, where she remains in stable condition. At approximately 10 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified an injured person was located at 186 McAdoo Ave. Responding officers found the lifeless body of a man — later identified as Jason Khusial, 21, of Jersey City — with multiple apparent stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:14 a.m. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be multiple sharp force wounds to the torso and the manner of death to be homicide. An investigation determined Khusial had been injured in the Clinton Avenue incident. Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force with the arrest.
