welfare of a child.
The defendant was held on a warrant at the county jail.
On March 23 at 1:51 p.m.,
Officer Esteban Gonzalez and Sgt. Finch were dispatched to a private apartment for a domestic violence incident called in by a third party. A 30-year-old woman reported she had an argument with her husband after confronting him about suspicion of infidelity.
The wife reportedly packed the husband’s clothes and told him to leave. In response, the husband allegedly choked, her leaving a red mark on her neck, threw her to the floor and smashed her cellular phone on the floor damaging it.
Officers arrested the husband.
At the police station, the wife refused to cooperate with the investigation, wanted her husband released, and now claimed the mark on her neck was self-inflicted and she had misspoken earlier in describing the choking (but not the push to the floor or the cellular phone damage).
Notwithstanding, the husband was charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and simple assault and detained in the county jail.
On March 23 at 1:54 a.m., Officers Ruben Rivera and Angel Martinez, and several back-up officers were dispatched to a private apartment for a dispute. They walked into the apartment finding that the place reeked of rubbing alcohol. Officers learned a woman was asleep on a mattress in the living room and allegedly awoke to find her estranged husband, who sleeps in another room, holding an alcohol-soaked rag over her face and making a comment about “having her.”
The woman stopped him, but police were reportedly not called until the husband placed the cloth over her face a second time, forcing the wife to kick and scream for help. Officers later seized the alcohol-soaked cloth which had reportedly been next to a used pre-filled syringe containing Caverject Impulse, an injectable erectile dysfunction medication.
Officers arrested the husband on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats, criminal restraint, weapon possession and endangering another person.
He was brought to Jersey City Medical Center for a psychiatric screening.

It was later determined the vehicle was stolen out of New York City. Recovered from the vehicle was a handgun, stolen out of Connecticut. Both Pimental and Gonzalez were arrested and charged accordingly. They were remanded to the Bergen County Jail. n On Feb. 28, 2022, North Arlington police received a report of a male engaged in a lewd act in his vehicle. The caller stated she was walking her dog on Ridge Road near Eagle Street when she observed a black vehicle with its windows down. As she walked by the vehicle, she could clearly see the male engaged in lewd conduct. An investigation led to the arrest of Nicholas Collins, 27, of Paterson, who was charged with lewdness and released on a summons. n On March 7, 2022, North Arlington police received a call of three individuals wearing ski masks burglarizing vehicles. With the assistance of the Lyndhurst Police Department, officers located the individuals matching the description on Albert Street.
The individuals were later identified as Emmanuel Galindez, 32, of Newark, and two juveniles.
A subsequent investigation determined Galindez allegedly burglarized a vehicle on Biltmore Avenue. He was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters and processed and later transported to the Bergen County Jail. One of the juveniles was found to be in possession of an air soft gun. Both juveniles were also transported to police headquarters, where they were turned over to their parents.
