It is the role o f the clinical dietetic technician to assist the registered dietitian in the provision o f nutri­ tion care. T h e term “ clinical� signifies that this person specializes in norm al and therapeutic dietetics rather than in the adm inistration o r m a n a gem en t o f a dietary departm ent o f fo o d system.

Why MLT? When asked shy they made the choice of MLT, some o f the student responses were: “ I like working with microscopes” “ enjoy lab atmosphere” “ Like grass stuff’ “ Interested in welfare of patients” “ It requires deligence”

Just what is MLT? The main emphasis o f the Medi­ cal Laboratory Technology Program is to teach students how to perform alanysis and tests on different body fluids.

These tests play an important role in the diagnosis of patient illnesses which can help In effective treatment of the ill­ nesses. Some areas of study Include: urinalysis, blood counts, hematology, immunology, and serology.
