THE REVERB STORY In January 2011, Pastor Bryan Lamoureux was in a special season of prayer. It was during that time that the Lord confirmed the vision and mission for Reverb Church. He was serving on staff at Journey Church in Jacksonville as a Co-Pastor/Co-Planter at the time. After sharing the vision with Journey’s leadership, they agreed to help plant this new church in the World Golf Village area of St. Augustine, FL. The launch team was made up of 45 people and from there, Reverb Church held its first worship experience January 15, 2012. That Sunday, more than 240 people attended the first experience at Pacetti Bay Middle School in World Golf Village and the vision in Pastor Bryan and Renee’s hearts had now become a reality. From the beginning, Reverb Church has focused on reaching those who do not know God personally and building relationships through community. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday experiences, and the love of God’s people brought immediate growth to the church. In our first decade, we have seen thousands of people make decisions for Christ and have had the privilege to give millions of dollars toward building the Kingdom of God around the world. We continue to plant and support churches in our backyard and around the world. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when fulfilling the vision to passionately connect people to an authentic life in Christ. THOSE WHO ARE PLANTED IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD SHALL FLOURISH IN THE COURTS OF OUR GOD. PSALM 92:13 NKJV

WE EXIST TO PASSIONATELY CONNECT PEOPLE TO AN AUTHENTIC LIFE IN CHRIST. EPHESIANS1:16–20 (ESV) “I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places.”

WE FULFILL OUR VISION THROUGH OUR MISSION. 1. RESOUND THE MESSAGE

g of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Every Christian is called to resound the message MATTHEW 28:18–20 (ESV) “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” 18

Resounding the Message is expressed in various ways at Reverb Church including preaching, teaching, personal evangelism, personal testimony, and worship.

ROMANS 1:16 (ESV) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” ROMANS 10:14–15 (ESV) 14 “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 2. MAKE DISCIPLES

p of Jesus Christ. Every Christian is also called to make disciples MATTHEW 28:19–20 (ESV) 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” ACTS 1:8 (ESV) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” MATTHEW 16:24–26 (ESV) 24 “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” JOHN 15:8–9 (ESV) “By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.”

3. PLANT CHURCHES

Since the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost (Acts Chapter 2), the Church of Jesus Christ has been expanding. This expansion is accomplished through the establishing of new local churches. Planting doctrinally sound, life-giving churches is a great way to reach people that have not yet been reached! We see a pattern in the New Testament to plant churches, not simply to share the faith. The “Great Commission” is not just a call to “make disciples” but to “baptize.” In Acts and elsewhere in the New Testament, it is clear that baptism means incorporation into a worshiping community with accountability and boundaries. (cf. Acts 2:41-47). ACTS 14:21–23 (ESV) “When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. 23 And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed.” 21

LUKE 14:22–23 (ESV) 22 “And the servant said, ‘Sir, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.’ 23 And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled..”

OUR DOCTRINE

WHAT WE TEACH At Reverb Church, you will find people from different cultures, backgrounds, and denominations. With that said, there are truths about God’s Word that clearly define our Christian faith. What you will discover here is how we share the good news of Jesus (our faith) with the world in both teaching and practice. Reverb Church has a “two-handed” theology, which holds essential doctrines in a closed fist and non-essential doctrines in an open hand.

By this, we mean that some doctrinal stances are essential according to biblically orthodox Christianity (i.e., the Trinity, Jesus’ deity, virgin birth, sinless life, death for sin, and resurrection, the authority of the Bible, salvation by grace through faith in Jesus alone, etc.). Others are non-essential because they stem from secondary issues which Reverb holds in an “open hand.” A person’s salvation does not depend on a particular stance concerning these secondary issues. Learn more about our essential doctrines on our website at Reverb.Church/whatwebelieve

4 FOUNDATIONAL PILLARS THAT DEFINE WHAT WE TEACH 1. GOD SAVES

SALVATION IS BY GRACE ALONE THROUGH FAITH ALONE WHICH IS GIVEN BY GOD AS A GIFT. TOTAL DEPRAVITY (HUMAN NATURE IS THOROUGHLY CORRUPT AND SINFUL AS A RESULT OF THE FALL). GOD MAKES US ALIVE IN CHRIST. Only God can save a sinner. Reverb holds to the classic doctrines handed down throughout Church history centered in good news of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We hold very closely to the classic protestant theology summarized by the doctrines of grace. By “doctrines of grace” we mean that Reverb Church believes that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in the work of Christ alone, to the glory of God alone, as revealed in the Holy Scriptures alone. We believe these doctrines to be the underlying truths about the person and work of Jesus Christ, which have been historically held to by all orthodox believers in every generation. As humans, we are born into sin, totally depraved and unable to save ourselves (Psalms 51:5). It is the work of God alone who calls and saves us by His grace. The faith God gives us to believe is a gift. The doctrine of total depravity reflects the viewpoint of original sin. This belief defines the consequences to the human race because of the first sin by Adam and Eve. As a result of the sin of Adam and Eve, the entire human race fell, and our nature as human beings since the fall has been influenced by the power of evil. We were dead in our sin, sons of disobedience, but God rich in mercy, made us alive together in Christ, grace through faith, not your own doing but a gift from God. Read Ephesians 2:1-10 ESV.

2. GOD SENDS

PASSIONATELY CONNECTING PEOPLE TO AN AUTHENTIC LIFE IN CHRIST. FAITHFUL TO THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD. CONTEXTUAL IN CULTURE. We believe that the local church must be faithful to the content of unchanging biblical doctrine (Jude 3). With that in mind, we know how important it is that the local church is faithful to continually change the context of how we share the good news of Jesus in our culture (1 Corinthians 9:19-23). Our mission is to passionately connect people to an authentic life in Christ in our neighborhoods and cities. We accomplish this in unique and relevant ways. As followers of Jesus, we should also bring people into the Church so that they can be trained to go out into their culture as effective missionaries. We pray, evangelize, and do good works because we believe that the sovereign plan of God is accomplished through us, His people.

3. GOD LEADS

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND HIS WORK IS NOT FORGOTTEN BUT RATHER EMBRACED FOR OUR EVERYDAY EMPOWERMENT. CONTINUATION OF ALL SPIRITUAL GIFTS. HOLY SPIRIT LED. At Reverb, we are continuationists. This is the belief that the gifts of the Holy Spirit have continued to the present age, specifically those sometimes called “sign gifts,” such as tongues and prophecy. We believe that ALL Gifts of the Spirit are in operation today until the second coming of Jesus Christ. The Spirit continually points us back to Jesus and the promises of scripture as our sure foundation. The Spirit empowers us to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and equips us to work together as the members of Christ’s body. Jesus said in John 16:13, the Spirit came to Glorify the Son, to guide and teach believers in the Truth. When Paul talks about “Walking in the Spirit,” “The gifts of the Spirit” and the “Fruits of the Spirit,” he uses language that leads believers to understand that the Spirit gives “gifts and fruit” not for us to feel good about our moral or spiritual conduct, but to humble us and empower us to proclaim the gospel and to love others more freely.

4. GOD DESIGNS

BOTH MEN AND WOMEN EQUALLY IN THE IMAGE OF GOD. MEN AND WOMEN HAVE DIFFERENT ROLES TO REFLECT TRUTHS ABOUT GOD. MODELING OUR HOMES AND CHURCH THROUGH THE LENS OF SCRIPTURE. Reverb holds to a complementarian belief that God created male and female as complementary expressions of the image of God and are counterparts in reflecting His glory. We believe that men and women are inherently equal in that they are equally created in the image of God. We also believe that men and women have very distinct and different roles in imaging the truth of the gospel regarding Christ’s marriage to His bride, the Church. Having two sexes expands the view. Though both sexes bear God’s image fully on their own, each does so in a unique and distinct way. Male and female in relationship reflects truths about Jesus that aren’t reflected by male alone or female alone. The dictionary defines “complement” as follows: Something that completes or makes perfect; either of two parts or things needed to complete the whole; counterparts. IN OUR HOMES: In the home when a husband leads like Christ and a wife responds like the bride of Christ, there is a harmony and mutuality that is more beautiful and more satisfying than any pattern of marriage created by man. Biblical headship for the husband is the divine calling to take primary responsibility for Christlike, servant-leadership, protection and provision in the home. Biblical submission for the wife is the divine calling to honor and affirm her husband’s leadership and help carry it through according to her gifts. Therefore, when we follow God’s idea of marriage we are most satisfied and He is most glorified (Genesis 2:1824; Proverbs 5:15-19; 31:10-31; Mark 10:2-12; Ephesians 5:21-33; Colossians 3:18-19; and 1 Peter 3:1-7).

14

Reverb Growth Track

IN THE CHURCH: For men and women who have a heart to minister to save souls, heal broken lives, resist evil, and meet needs, the opportunities are endless. God intends for the entire church to be mobilized in ministry, male and female. So when the Bible teaches that men and women fulfill different roles in relation to each other, charging man with a unique leadership role, it bases this difference not on temporary cultural norms but on permanent facts of Creation. This is seen in 1 Corinthians 11:3-16 (especially vv. 8-9, 14); Ephesians 5:21-33 (especially vv. 31-32); and 1 Timothy 2:11-14 (especially vv. 13-14). In the Bible, different roles for men and women are never traced back to the Fall of man and woman into sin. Rather, the foundation of these different roles is traced back to the way things were in Eden before sin warped our relationships. Differentiated roles were corrupted, not created, by the Fall. They were created by God.

The same is true of God’s design for the leadership of the Church. The realities of headship and submission in marriage have their counterparts in the Church. Paul speaks of authority and submission in 1 Timothy 2:11-12. “Authority” refers to the divine calling of spiritual, gifted men to take primary responsibility as elders for Christlike, servant-leadership and teaching in the Church. “Submission” refers to the divine calling of the rest of the Church, both men and women, to honor and affirm the leadership and teaching of the elders/pastors and to be equipped by them for the various ministries available to men and women in the service of Christ. There are different kinds and levels of teaching and leading that will not be the sole responsibility of men (Titus 2:3; Proverbs 1:8; 31:26; Acts 18:26). Therefore in answer to God’s call for the Church to be filled with the Spirit and submit to one another, we hold that men bear the primary responsibility for servant-like leadership and are solely qualified for the position of Pastor/Elder. At the same time we fully encourage women to seek all possible opportunities to exercise their spiritual gifts at Reverb for the building up of the body of Christ. Women can hold any office in ministry from Director to Deacon only reserving Pastor/Elder to male leadership ( 1 Timothy 2, Titus 2, Ephesians 5:22–33 & Colossians 3:18–20).

CHURCH GOVERNMENT Jesus Christ is the chief shepherd and the head of Reverb Church. Ephesians 1:21–23 (ESV) “...far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his (Jesus) feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.”

OUR STRUCTURE

Reverb is a non-denominational church. Our model of church government sees the church as locally autonomous, relationally accountable, elder-governed, and staff led. GOVERNING ELDERS

Reverb Church is governed by a group of biblically qualified elders. This team consists of both staffed and non-staffed elders. Non-staffed elders are those who do not derive their employment from Reverb Church.

Elders provide spiritual oversight by praying for and shepherding the congregation. They support the spiritual growth and development of Reverb Church and serve as guardians of our vision, mission, and doctrine. The primary responsibilities of elders include prayer and study of Scripture, vision and direction, care for the people of the church, teaching, modeling godly character, protecting the church from false doctrine, and developing other leaders. We believe the health of the church is best protected through shared leadership and accountability. For that reason, Reverb Church is led by a plurality of elders. This means no single individual holds ultimate authority. Each elder carries equal responsibility and an equal voice in the governance of the church.

16

Reverb Growth Track

The Lead Pastor serves as a leader among equals. He brings vision and direction to the elder team, but decisions are made together through prayer, scripture, and unity. This model promotes humility, wisdom, balance, and protection for both the church and its leaders. To further safeguard this structure, Reverb Church’s bylaws require that 50% or more of the governing elders be non-staffed (non-paid) elders. This ensures that leadership accountability is shared and not concentrated among those employed by the church.

Example: If there are 5 governing elders, the Lead Pastor has a 1/5 vote on decisions made for the church. We truly believe this biblical model both serves and protects the local congregation. 1 PETER 5:1-4 (ESV) “So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”

Please visit reverb.church/team to see the current list of elders and their contact information. EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP AND STAFF

Our Executive Leadership Team and staff provide spiritual leadership, vision, and operational oversight for Reverb Church under the direction of the Governing Elders. The staff helps carry out the day-to-day ministry of the church, ensuring that vision becomes action and that people are cared for and led well. Those who serve on the Executive Leadership Team oversee multiple ministry areas and lead the staff members and key leaders who direct those areas.

VOLUNTEER DIRECTORS & COACHES

Reverb is full of faithful leaders who oversee and support the ministries that serve our church and community. Volunteer Directors and Coaches provide leadership, care, and accountability for teams and ministry areas. They help create healthy team culture, develop leaders, and ensure ministry is carried out with excellence and alignment to the vision of Reverb Church. These leaders don’t just manage tasks; they shepherd people and help them grow in their calling. SERVE TEAM

The Serve Team is made up of people who have said “yes” to using their God-given gifts to build the church and serve others. Every role matters, and every person plays a vital part in what God is doing at Reverb. Scripture teaches that leaders are called to equip the church, but the work of ministry belongs to the people of God. Ephesians 4:11–12 (ESV) “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.”

At Reverb Church, we believe the church is strongest when everyone is engaged. The Serve Team is where purpose becomes practical and faith is lived out through action. Together, we build the body of Christ and create environments where people can encounter Jesus.

CHURCH FINANCES At Reverb Church, we believe in the principle of tithing. We recognize that the tithing of our income is the biblical standard for obedience in returning the first 10% of our increase to the local storehouse. We practice tithing for the support of Christ’s body, the Church, as God commands. PROVERBS 3:9-10 NIV “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” MALACHI 3:10 NIV ‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’ Giving is one of the central themes in the Bible. Jesus talked more about this subject than heaven, hell, or prayer. To understand what it means to be a Christ-follower, we must also understand what it means to be a giver.

1. TITHE

The tithe, or “first fruits,” of our labor/income belong to God. We find this principle throughout God’s Word both in the Old and New Testament. Tithing, returning to God the first 10% of our income to the local church, is the primary practical way we acknowledge that God is first in our lives (Proverbs 3:9-10). 2. OFFERINGS

An offering is giving over and above the tithe. At Reverb Church, we accomplish this through Kingdom Builders. The Bible says that by giving generously, we are able to “take hold of the life that is truly life” (1 Timothy 6:18-19 NIV).

20

Reverb Growth Track

3. THE GIFT OF GIVING

The gift of giving is a spiritual gift that God gives to some people (Romans 12:8). It is a Spirit-given capacity and desire to serve God by giving of your material resources, above and beyond the tithe, to further the work of God. Those who want to use their gift of giving to help accelerate the vision and impact of what God is doing through Reverb Church participate in Kingdom Builders. Many people love to give to God and want to feel confident in the organization through which they give. At Reverb, we want people to understand they are giving to God through the church, not to the church. As we openly share the honesty, integrity, and spiritual values that guide the financial practices of Reverb, we believe people can focus on what God is calling them to give and trust that He is leading our church to steward it well. The returning of tithes and giving of offerings is worship to Jesus. Giving is not considered a business transaction but an act of worship and an expression of gratitude to God. Reverb Church models the spirit of generosity. We are committed to giving no less than 12% of our annual giving toward Kingdom purposes locally and around the world.

DISCOVER YOUR DESIGN Every person was created on purpose and for a purpose. God didn’t make anyone by accident. He designed you with unique gifts, passions, and abilities so your life could make a difference in the life of another person. You were created to make an eternal impact. God has a specific place for you in His Kingdom where your life, your story, and your strengths come together to bring Him glory. Until you find, develop, and walk in that purpose, life will always feel incomplete. In Step Two, our goal is to help you discover how God has designed you and connect that design to your divine purpose. We want to help you uncover how God has uniquely wired you and open the door for you to use your gifts in serving Him and others. Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Reverb Growth Track

27

When you serve, you step into the good works that God prepared in advance for you. These aren’t random acts of kindness — they are divine opportunities written into your story before you were even born. Serving isn’t just what we do; it’s who we were created to be. Acts 20:24 (ESV) “But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”

1 Corinthians 12:4-5, 27 (ESV) “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord… Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

CONNECT TO PURPOSE When you serve, God doesn’t just use you; He blesses you. Serving is one of the ways we discover our purpose. It’s more than filling a role—it’s joining God in the work He is already doing. When we make ourselves available, He allows us to play a part in His plan to reach and restore people. In Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding in Cana, He told the servants to fill the jars with water. They didn’t understand how it would work, but they obeyed. When Jesus turned the water into wine, everyone at the wedding tasted the miracle, but only the servants knew where it came from. John 2:9 (ESV) “When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.”

Those servants had a front-row seat to the power of God because they obeyed. That’s what happens when we say yes to Him—we don’t just witness His work; we get to participate in it. God doesn’t need us to accomplish His will, yet He chooses to include us. That is the true blessing of serving: the honor of being invited by a perfect Father to build His Kingdom with Him. He takes flawed, ordinary people and uses them for His extraordinary purposes. When we serve, He gets the glory, and we receive the joy of knowing we played a small part in what only He could do. 1 Peter 4:10 (ESV) “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Mark 10:43 (ESV) “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant.”

Connecting to purpose begins when we say yes to being used by God. It’s where humility meets calling and where God uses our hands to reveal His heart.

LIVING ABOVE REPROACH When you take a deeper step into engaging with the church, the level of accountability in your life naturally takes a step up as well. That’s the nature of Christian fellowship: iron sharpens iron. We encourage one another and spur each other on toward love and good works. In community, we are being matured and shaped into the people God has called us to be. Scripture calls us to “walk in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ” (Philippians 1:27). By stepping up to serve at Reverb Church, we want you to know that there are standards we expect those representing the church to uphold. These are not new expectations outside of Scripture—they are simply the biblical standards all believers are called to live by. Serving just provides a greater opportunity for accountability and growth as we live lives set apart for God. John Maxwell once said, “Leadership is influence—nothing more, nothing less.” Every team member at Reverb Church carries influence in the lives of those they serve. As leaders and representatives of Christ, how we walk with God and how we live our lives impacts how others perceive the faith we proclaim. No one lives this Christian life perfectly. But those who serve choose to confront sin in their own lives and invite others to hold them accountable. We understand that living in willful, unrepentant sin damages our witness and misrepresents Jesus. In accordance with Scripture (Matthew 18), any team member living in a lifestyle of unrepentant sin will be asked to step back from serving for a season. Our goal is never punishment—it is restoration. We are committed to helping anyone caught up in sin find freedom through repentance, pastoral care, and possible professional biblical counseling. Of course, this is dependent upon the person’s willingness to walk through this biblical process of restoration.

Behaviors Requiring Attention These may include, but are not limited to: Drunkenness Illegal drug use Verbal or physical abuse Patterns of deception or dishonesty Divisive or slanderous behavior Sexual immorality (sexual activity outside of biblical marriage) Consistent patterns of behavior that contradict biblical character or misrepresent Christ and His church Our heart is to extend grace and give every opportunity for repentance, healing, and restoration. Everyone is welcome at Reverb Church, and everyone is invited to take steps toward freedom in Christ. Serving is not about perfection—it’s about pursuit. We pursue holiness, humility, and integrity as an act of worship to the One who has called us.

As a member of Team Reverb, I recognize that serving is both a privilege and a responsibility. I commit to live in a way that honors God and reflects the character of Jesus. I will walk in humility, pursue holiness, and welcome accountability. I will serve faithfully, love generously, and lead with integrity. When I fall short, I will repent quickly, seek restoration, and continue growing in grace. Through my words, actions, and example, I will help others see and experience the goodness of God.

Colossians 3:23 (ESV) “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.”
