What does the committee do?

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Advisory Committee (KEAC) serves an advisory role for KEPO. It provides input and guidance on matters related to specific projects, including (but not limited to) the Regional Impact Assessment and the Environmental Legislative Project.

This will include:

Supporting the development of a community vision for the environment. Being involved in the drafting of the Environment Protection Law. And more!

We need your help to protect and better the environment of our community.

A one-year term, beginning in Spring 2025. Meetings are once per month. There will be at least 10 in person meetings per year, with the possibility of an online option. An honorarium will be provided for participation based on attendance. Committee members will serve as representatives of the community and as guardians of the environment.

Who are we looking for?

Any Kahnawa'kehró:non with an interest in the betterment and protection of the environment of our community; on the land and traditional knowledge holders (fishers, hunters, foragers, planters); elders & youth; environmentally conscientious business owners; etc...
