My name is Kenzy Eweda, and I am certain that being an Architect would be the ideal career choice for me due to a number of unique factors. Since I was very young, I really loved playing with Legos. At the age of 7, I actively joined an afterschool Lego building club. I enjoyed browsing the catalogue and replicating everything it offered, but after repeatedly making the same models, I decided to develop my own designs which soon everyone in my family found impressive. I’m really good with shapes, patterns, space, and colours. I started picking up a pencil and drawing even before the age of 1; my early drawings were hearts, triangles, squares, and circles. I could draw one side of a shape and replicate the exact reflection symmetry of it on the other side. When I was seven years old, I was enrolled in my first art class. I drew a large Mandala with reoccurring patterns and shapes and coloured it with all the gorgeous colours of the rainbow. My teacher was so impressed with my work that she requested to display it in the Children's Art Exhibition in Calgary Alberta for several years, which we of course agreed to. In addition to enjoying visual design, I also enjoy learning about and comprehending human needs and behaviours. I devote lots of time reading articles and books about how colours, patterns, and spaces affect our emotions and daily behaviours as human beings. Through art and design, I believe Architecture allows me to convey my own feelings and emotions, as well as recognising the feelings of others that will be occupying the space. I've always enjoyed both problem-solving and creating art, therefore I'd like to design something that meets the needs of the intended user while also allowing me to give it my own unique touch. I am a trilingual Egyptian Canadian 17 -year-old, I speak Arabic, French and of course English. I have traveled all over the world and was exposed to a variety of cultures that have influenced who I am today. Studying architecture will strengthen my problem -solving abilities and provide me the opportunity to grow and use my artistic skills to design remarkable spaces that will positively impact the whole world. Getting into Laurentian Architecture would absolutely be a dream come true for me because it would allow me to use my skills and talents to create wonderful designs that I am hopeful will not disappoint. As the highest employment of all Universities i n Ontario I’m certain Laurentian Architecture will provide me with the ideal experience to best prepare me for graduation and the real world.
