Department: Marketing & Communication (This is the face of the hospital that coordinates, creates, and disseminates all materials representing the Hospital).
Tasks
Managing customer serving desks, assisting and directing visitors and patients accordingly, managing patient visitations in accordance with hospital guidelines, photography, and videography.
The learning experience at KNH
The learning experience has been amazing so far. I have improved my communication skills. The clients here are mostly anxious, so one needs to develop more empathetic communication skills to serve patients and relatives well. It has been an interesting journey.
What I love about KNH
It is an encouraging environment to work in, and the doctors are neat and excellent. Also helpful supervisors (a nod to my supervisor, Mr. Ruto). Welcoming colleagues and an amazing work environment.
Plans?
I want to start a podcast after campus. I’m also planning to be self-employed rather than diving into employment in media and communications.
Parting shot?
I will urge my fellow interns to perform their duties well to build experience and connections. Follow the rules and be as present as possible. Follow your dreams.
