“The Development Report at Kent Place School functions as a faithful record of all donations made to the school during the prior fiscal year. Donations include gifts to the Annual Fund, which supports the daily operations of the school, gifts to the school’s endowment (funds that are invested and used to guarantee the financial future of the school) and gifts to our ongoing capital campaign, Limitless Possibilities, which will provide the funds for construction of our new Center for Innovation, Athletic Center and Performing Arts Center.

The following is a proud list of all those in the Kent Place community who seek to support the school. Annual Giving 2015-2016 Message from Pamela M. Kapsimalis ’79 Chair, Development Committee Board of Trustees

Dear Kent Place Community: On behalf of the Kent Place Board of Trustees, the Office of Development & Alumnae Relations and the Development Committee, I am delighted to present the following report, which reflects the continued generosity and support of all of you.

Kent Place School is historically a community of committed students, parents, friends, grandparents, faculty, staff, alumnae and trustees, and we are grateful for the loyalty of each of our Kent Place donors. Because of this support, Kent Place will continue to be at the forefront of independent school education, athletics and the arts and will continue to send its graduates to the finest colleges and universities in the world.

As a result of such generous donors and a successful first annual golf outing this past September, we exceeded the $58,644.80 prorated goal in year two of the “New Connections” financial aid endowment challenge. Once this challenge is successfully met for a total of the six years, we will have secured an additional $2.5 million in financial aid endowment dollars.

The Annual Fund (which is critical in helping meet the increasing costs of educating students — costs that tuition and other revenue dollars do not cover) raised over $1.22 million. With shovels in the ground this spring to complete the Center for Innovation, the third major fundraising goal, the capital campaign, is underway with over $17 million in donations.

This year, we are thrilled with the progress of The Campaign for Kent Place School! The campaign is guaranteeing that our teaching and learning spaces will provide a top environment for research, exploration and educational pursuits in all disciplines of study. The first construction project, the Center for Innovation, will include “state-of-the-art” innovation labs, a technology center, a media center, visual arts studios, a global leadership center, math classrooms, a STEM lab, a math studio, an art gallery and a library information center.

The second construction project will include a new building to expand our Athletic Center capabilities, which will include a health and fitness center, a performance gym, a training center, new offices and more.

Kent Place New Connections Endowment Fund In 2013, Jennifer and Alan Fournier, parents of Abigail ’15 and Elizabeth ’15, gave $500,000 to Kent Place with a challenge to raise a matching $500,000 by June 30, 2014. In the first year of the challenge the donor agreed to match what we raised dollarfor-dollar up to $750,000. Thanks to your generous support, we exceeded the $500,000 goal by more than $206,000, quickly increasing our Financial Aid endowment by $1,206,000. At the time of the initial challenge, the Fourniers also challenged us to secure $100,000 each of the next five years, beginning in July 2014. Because we raised so much the first year, that $100,000 amount was prorated to $58,644.80 for 2014 through 2019.

We have met the challenge for 2015-2016 and are fundraising for an additional $58,644.80 for 2016-2017. Once we complete the entire challenge, we will have added a total of $2,500,000 to our financial aid endowment at Kent Place School.

We wish to thank the Fournier family for this incredibly generous challenge, and all those who helped us meet the challenge and make it possible to “give another girl a chance” to attend Kent Place.
