Your family of 5 (or fewer) can make appointments to spend one hour in the STREAM Center, playing with our tech and art toys. One adult caregiver must be in attendance at all times with their child.

Following all social distance requirements, all families may show their costumes and decorated trunks while a parade goes around the parking lot offering candy to everyone. There’s going to be a prize for best decorated trunk.

For cats only: The Ohio Alleycat Resource (O.A.R.) will be bringing their mobile spay/ neuter unit to the Covington Library. Reservations are required so please call O.A.R. directly at 513.871.0185 to reserve your cat’s spot on the van.

Join us for a safe way to trick or treat! Vehicles will be parked in the parking lot so you can follow our one-way path through our volunteers’ stations and get some tasty Halloween treats.

What the Library Is Doing in the Prevention of Virus Spread: • Disinfecting all surfaces throughout the day.

• Keeping returned items quarantined for 72 hours before returning items to shelves.

• Patrons can download the Library’s app to check out books on their mobile device (does not apply to DVDs and games). Search for Kenton County Library to find it in the app store.

• Asking visitors to adhere to social distancing guidelines (as marked by X on the floor).

• Following the “Healthy at Work” guidelines as set by the Commonwealth of Kentucky: “Healthy at Work” offers a phased approach to reopening Kentucky’s economy. It is based on criteria set by public health experts and advice from industry experts.

Haunt Your Library Writing Contest

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded in late October. Submit entries to the Covington Children’s Department or email a Word document to writingcontest@kentonlibrary. org. How to Participate in Programs Staff at the Kenton County Public Library are committed to provide patrons with unique opportunities to use the Library and participate in programs. There are three ways programs are currently offered: Facebook: All events are posted in Facebook. Registration is not required.

All you need is a Facebook account to participate. Previously recorded programs on Facebook Live can be found in the Video link.

Zoom: Programs taking place on Zoom will require the participant to have access to a computer or a phone or tablet with a camera. Those registered for the program will need to download the Zoom app (free) to participate.

If you don’t have access to a computer or device, staff will work with you to see what options are available within the Library. Zoom program participants will need a valid email address. Those participating in Zoom events will be in an online “waiting room” so we can verify attendees’ admittance.

In person: At the time of this publication’s design, the Commonwealth of Kentucky still encourages a limited number of people at gatherings.

Please note that the Library will offer limited in-person programming while permitted but that could change based on governmental guidelines.
