Library Playgroup

Ages birth-5 Wednesdays, February 8 & 22, 9:30-11 am If you are a stay-at-home parent or other caregiver providing care for children in your home then the Play & Learn experience is for you! The 4C Play & Learn group gives children who are not enrolled in preschool a chance to interact with other children while learning and exploring through play. School Age Thursday, February 23, 4-8 pm Can you capture the Sorcerer’s Stone? Make your way through the Devil’s Snare and grab the right key, because there are dangers at every turn in our fun challenge course! We’ll set up the course around 4, but feel free to play into the evening.

Lunar Eclipse! Friday, February 10, 6:30-8 pm Join us at a special evening program to discuss how an eclipse works, and the differences between types of eclipses. Practice creating an “eclipse,” share books, videos, and more. Weather permitting, we will take the telescope outside to view the penumbral lunar eclipse as it happens. Staff will also discuss the library’s new astronomy-related collection which includes the loaning of telescopes.

Opening Reception for “Sleep Tight Farm” Saturday, February 18, 3-4 pm This exhibit will feature original illustrations from the children’s book “Sleep Tight Farm,” illustrated by Covington native Becca Stadtlander. Becca is a freelance illustrator that has done work for Penguin Random House, Anthropologie, Kate Spade, The New York Times, Hallmark, and many more. Show runs through Saturday, March 25.
