KENT DENVER SCHOOL

COLLEGE COUNSELING

KDS College Experience On-Site Counseling College Presentations More than 170 colleges sent representatives to Kent Denver School during the 2015-16 academic year to meet with interested seniors and juniors. The breadth of participating institutions—Ivy League; small, liberal arts colleges; mid-size colleges and universities; public and private research universities; and international universities—reflects the varied interests of our students. The goal of Kent Denver School’s College Counseling Office is to help students and parents successfully manage each stage of the college admission process, ultimately guiding students to enroll at the institution that best suits their interests, abilities and goals. Our students and families reap the benefits of a dedicated team of professional advisors who bring more than four decades of college counseling and college admission office experience to their roles. We understand the college ad mission process is challenging. Our College Counseling team provides individual counseling for students, student workshops, family meetings, informal parent coffee chats, weekly newsletters for juniors, seniors and their families, college list develop ment advice, essay and application support, college application boot camps, financial aid presentations and access to college representatives.

“College guidebooks, brochures and websites only tell part of the story,” says Katie Thomas, Director of College Counseling. “College representatives from far and wide visit Kent Denver. We facilitate meetings between our students and the many representatives who visit so that students can learn more about the school and ask questions about the application process, campus life and academic, artistic and athletic programs.” For a 2015-16 Roster of Visiting Colleges, see the back page of this booklet.
