Alwyn Court Residence
Our renovation of a 110 SF kitchen in a Manhattan residence created a well-organized efficient workspace. We designed elegant custom cabinets accented by polished nickel hardware and beautifully veined white Calacata Borghini marble countertops. Top cabinets with leaded glass doors added storage and beauty. Energy-efficient windows and a new parquet wood floor complete the design.
Alwyn Court Residence
Our guest bath renovation created a luxurious spa-like environment for our client. A delicately veined white Carrara marble slab was used for the Waterworks vanity top and enclosed the new undermount tub. The walls are traditional white subway tiles accented by a pearl-gray marble mosaic band and polished chrome accessories. The floor is a field of silver, grey and white marble mosaic tile.

Loft Residence
We created a relaxed, comfortable feeling in this spacious one-bedroom apartment with generous 13-foot high ceilings in Tuckahoe, NY. The dark rich, ebonized woods and intense accent colors balance the finely textured neutral fabrics used for the custom window treatment, Baker and McGuire furniture, and Scott Group carpet. The project area is 1,300 square feet.

The Rivervue Model Apartment
We created a relaxed, comfortable feeling in this spacious one-bedroom apartment with generous 13-foot high ceilings in Tuckahoe, NY. The dark rich, ebonized woods and intense accent colors balance the finely textured neutral fabrics used for the custom window treatment, Baker and McGuire furniture, and Scott Group carpet. The project area is 1,300 square feet.

Upper East Side Residence
We masterfully blended new finishes and furnishings to complement and enhance the client's existing heirloom furniture in this Manhattan residence. A custom-designed Tufenkian hand-woven carpet unifies and anchors the Living Area, and silk wallcoverings add a subtle warmth. A custom rose-red faux wall finish creates drama and interest in the Entry Foyer. The project area is 2,500 square feet.

Upper East Side Residence
To create a warm, luxurious feeling in the Study, we used a soothing color palette of gold with rich red accents. We refurbished and reupholstered the client's existing furniture in shades of deep gold to complement their existing area rug. Light gold wallcovering and silk drapery above walnut wainscotting and bookcases cultivate a soothing, contemplative environment.

Upper East Side Residence
We used layers of yellow and gold to create a feeling of relaxed luxury in the Primary Bedroom and Bath. A custom yellow-gold faux wall finish envelopes the bedroom in warmth, complemented by golden silk drapery and a cream-color Scott Group wool carpet. The bath features Jerusalem Gold stone walls, tub, and vanity, accented with French Gold fittings and custom-design mirrored cabinets.

Upper East Side Residence

A custom soft blue faux wall finish envelopes the Guest Bedroom in warmth, complementing a custom-design blue Scott Group wool carpet, silk bedding, and upholstery. A hand-painted ceiling mural floats above the Calacatta Gold marble wall tiles with azure-blue mosaic marble borders in the bath. Polished nickel fittings accent the shower and custom-design vanity and marble top.

Upper East Side Residence
Our renovation of the galley kitchen created a more inviting, brighter space. Soft yellow walls complement maple kitchen cabinets accented by polished nickel hardware. Golden granite countertops and marble mosaic tile backsplashes add warmth and interest. The finishing touch was selecting all stainless steel appliances and new pendant lighting for a fresh look.

Three Lincoln Center Residence

To create a luxurious zen-like retreat, we transformed this Manhattan apartment featuring Holly Hunt furnishings and a sophisticated monochromatic color scheme of creamy whites. We wrapped the walls in an off-white Larsen Thai silk wallcovering complementing a custom hand-woven Scott Group white wool carpet. Further enhancing this tranquil environment are ebonized tables and curated artwork.
Three Lincoln Center Lobby
We revitalized the look of this 3,000-square-foot residential lobby at Three Lincoln Center. Working with the existing architectural design, we selected new custom wall coverings, furnishings, artwork, decorative lighting, and carpets. Using rich shades of reds, golds, and greens, we created a dramatic yet warm and welcoming atmosphere that beautifully complements the existing mahogany wood paneling.

Three Lincoln Center
Working in harmony with the existing mahogany paneling, we chose a lustrous red fabric Pollack wallcovering, creating a striking backdrop for furnishing upholstered in gold and red velour. A custom-designed, handwoven Scott Group carpet, with a green field and red and gold accents, ties the design together. Further enhancing this dramatic environment are mahogany tables and curated artwork.

FITNESS CENTER & LOUNGE

We designed a 3,400-square-foot fitness center in an Upper East Side residential building with a weight and aerobics area, yoga studio, spa, and steam room. Challenged by the lack of natural daylight and views, we created a dynamic and inviting environment by combining a flowing layout of the studio spaces with backlit mirrors lining the weight room and an innovative lighting scheme.

Fitness Center Materials
Rich yet durable materials further the unique qualities of the fitness center. Material finishes and furniture used for the Fitness Center include Magna Mosaics Natural Cubic split-face stone used for accent walls, a reflective Xorel wallcovering, EcoSurface task flooring, ceramic and glass tiles, and walnut-stained bamboo paneling. Space, light, and materials are seamlessly woven to create a richly inviting experience.

EQ3 FLAGSHIP, NEW YORK

Founded in 1993, New York–based firm Kenne Shepherd Interior Design Architecture has extensive experience working with established brands looking to move into the U.S. market or expand their presence there.
The woman-owned studio, a certified Woman Business Enterprise, has collaborated with notable luxury and lifestyle labels including Salvatore Ferragamo, Calvin Klein, and Wolford. And most recently, EQ3, a young Canadian furniture retailer. “EQ3’s design aesthetic is very much in alignment with our own,” firm principal Kenne Shepherd notes. “They design and manufacture much of their furniture, and their product line is curated with a consistent modern aesthetic.”
The gridded facade of the brand’s Manhattan flagship store is echoed in the straightforward simplicity of the white-oak display fixtures inside, arrayed in a linear grid. As shoppers progress through the store, vignettes unfold seamlessly. The oak displays can be rearranged seasonally to create new stories. Although all three levels are connected by an elevator, special attention was given to the design of the stairwell in order to entice customers to move from floor to floor. The stair stringers are backlit, casting a soft glow on the adjacent wall that draws the eye upwards, encouraging and inviting customers to explore.

Clockwise from opposite top: With its ample glazing, EQ3’s Seventh Avenue storefront provides a full view of the extensive furniture line—and warmly minimalist interior architecture—within. Flooring throughout is prefinished wide planks of plain-sawn white oak. The high-efficiency LED linear track lighting offers complete flexibility with respect to illuminating the merchandise. Back-lighting of the metal and concrete stair leads the eye up to the second floor and down to the lower level. Second-floor vignettes showcase bedroom furniture, lounge seating, and accessories.
