Having a herd reduction wasn’t a hard decision to make, we’d had the discussion as a family when Kurt had a trip to the hospital in early May that we were going to have to cut the herd back to more manageable numbers. Deciding who to sell has been the struggle and the reality of selling the animals that we have literally poured our blood, sweat & tears into over the last 18 years made it a lot harder. The cows we are selling are not culls, rest assured the culls went to the market on a different day. We kept partner cows, the kids’ cows, some of the family favourites like show & 4-H cows or the golden oldies like, 63X, we had a great catch with embryos this year and most of those commercial cows carrying these are staying. Kurt & Quinn have slowly been growing our red herd and this year we finally had a ‘bulls worth’ so very few from the reds are selling. We let Shane & Mark pick the top end of the purebred May calvers and the rest we are keeping, because who doesn’t want 2 calving seasons! So no worries, we aren’t going anywhere, we’re just getting the herd to where we can still function as an active family in 4-H, hockey, curling, riding and all the other activities while feeding/calving/weaning etc cows. Next year we hope to be back at our favourite sales with heifer calves on offer. 2026 and moving forward we will be selling only yearling bulls via private treaty. All the coming 2 year olds we normally have in the bull sale will sell in this sale.
As you go through the catalogue you will see many cows were turned in with the bull shortly after they were AI’ed, we didn’t intend to have a herd reduction this year, we have moved to TSU sampling every calf as it is born so this made sense to us at the time, so please note most of the offspring will need to be DNA’ed.
A big thank you to the crew that got all the cattle in these pages hauled, clipped, pictured, videoed and weaned! We ended up picking literally the hottest week of the year but everyone showed up early each morning enthusiastic and quickly became a welloiled machine! Thanks everyone for your hard work, you made a tough job an incredible experience for our whole family.

This cow family may have a small selection selling but it is packed with solid genetics and proven work. Past donor, PED 2W, who was around until a few years ago is a mainstay in many of the females we are keeping. The Andee cow family has proven to be fertile, moderate framed cows that put their all into their calves; This year PED 306L weaned off one of the biggest bull calves in the pen. The Andee cow family is one of foundation families of our herd, going back to MJTA 503T whom Kurt purchased together with my Grandpa from the MJT sale in 2008 – she was called a ‘Valentines Gift’.

Another small cow family that goes back to GGRR NW Lady Ann 10W we bought from Gord Rattray, whom Dad considered a mentor. These girls have some size and are massive in their rib shape and overall dimension that you see in a proven, working cows. They are pretty and make raising a calf look easy. This sweet heifer calf is out of a Greenwood embryo Dad purchased a few years back. She is fancy made and when you see her mom you’ll know why. Sired by Brooking Emerald I think this heifer could be one cool show prospect.

This year we finally had enough reds for a full bull’s worth, so very few are selling. In this group there is a solid group of heifer calf pairs. The twin heifer calves are out of the bred heifer we bought from Towaw Cattle Co. last year in Red Roundup, they are deep bodied, wide topped heifer claves, we are keeping their mother, but these two girls will make beautiful momma cows down the road. The red bred we have on offer was my 4-H heifer, she is a big bellied, moderate heifer, she’s quiet but doesn’t love the show life. This group may be small, but they aren’t lacking quality.

May Calving Cows
Our May calving group was started and grown out of necessity. As our Jan calving herd has grown our barn didn’t quite keep up, add in a few years of having bull trouble and trying to branch into another market and that was our main reasons behind the May calvers. We preg check for the first time in late June and if cows are open then they are put out with a bull for 45 days for May calving. Half of these cows are bred to Ressler Endevour, a bull we brought up from North Dakota, unfortunately, we didn’t get him up here until June so all he bred were these girls before he ended the breeding season with a broken leg. So the cows bred to him are carrying some limited-edition offspring. Lots 63 - 77 sell as bred cows with a calf along side.

This fella is a bit of an anomaly, his birth weight is no typo, we suspect he was a multiple, when we found his mom in the pasture, she was worked up and just had this one tiny calf, we quickly named Tiny Tim. Sale Terms and Conditions
TERMS OF SALE
The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at the sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement, no invoicing on buyers in attendance, unless previous arrangements have been made. All cattle will sell under the standard terms and conditions set forth by the Canadian Angus Association.
BIDDING
Every animal entering the sale ring will be sold to the highest bidder.
DISPUTES
In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision of all disputes is final.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
All announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay close attention to any such announcements.
BREEDER’S GUARANTEE & PREGNANCY INFORMATION
All serviceable age females will have been pregnancy examined by an accredited vet.
DNA TESTING
DNA testing of the offspring in these females is the responsibility of the new owner if there is a discrepancy. All animals selling are Parent Verified.
MATURE BULLS SELLING
The Long Yearling Bulls selling will have passed a semen test prior to the sale and the semen papers will be at the sale for insuring these bulls. These bulls will not be wintered by Pedersen Livestock they are responsibility of the buyer after the hammer falls.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION
Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Angus Association. A certificate of registry transfer will be furnished to the buyer after the full and final payment has been made.
TRUCKING
Please do bring your trailers to the sale as all cattle will be leaving the Auction Mart Sale Day, if unable to bring a trailer please make prior arrangements. We are happy to assist with transportation of animals to greater distances at the expense of the buyer.
LIABILITIES
All people attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur.
