OBI Livestock Ltd Welcome It is my pleasure to invite you all to the 2nd Annual Ladies Of The West Bred Heifer Sale. The first year of this event was well accepted by all and many happy new customers were had.

The females that have been selected are right from the top of the consignor’s programs. As they all know you best bring the good ones to town. This year again they have dug deep into the keeper pen and presented you with an amazing line up for your appraisal. It has become a sale everyone will not want to miss with the opportunity to buy bred heifers that are made to make an impact in your herd right away with low maintenance, easy doing cattle and bred to top A.I. or walking bulls. The consignors as well as good folks that back their programs up. We will be pairing up females again that have even numbers.

Doing a footnote for this heifer really makes me question myself why I am letting this one leave.

I was once told if it doesn’t hurt to sell them you shouldn’t be. Well this one really hurts. We feel this female has an incredible future. She has the presence to catch your eye and the soundness to keep it. So well balanced and smooth in her makeup, yet powerful over her top and bold sprung over her rib. We have the first set of Kingsman daughters in production now and wow! They are something, let me tell you. Do not miss out on this opportunity as Kingsman is now gone, but will not soon be forgotten and his offspring are in extremely short supply going forward.

Everblack Annie 90J comes from a long line of productive cows going back 31 years to the donor cow, Annie 13A, who was the top selling female in our herd reduction sale in 1995. Fast forward to 2008 when the next donor, Annie 92U, was born. She was an elite cow in the Angus database raising 8 sons that sold through the bull sale, 6 daughters in herd, and one top seller to BAR-E-L at the Northern Sale, Annie 28C who sold for $16,000. She was one of the more productive cows we have raised and we feel Annie 90J could follow in those foot steps.

Annie 90J has a huge spring to her rib, is sweet fronted and very sound. The sire, BAR-E-L Stamina 11F has risen to the top of our program the old-fashioned way, by proving his worth.

His daughters are making beautiful cows, lots of middle, ample performance, and sweet udders. The sons have been very well received by the cowboys in our spring bull sale. An added highlight would be the service to our junior herd sire Six Mile Showtime 80H who commanded a $63,000 valuation last spring.

Everblack GR Pride 29J is a long, wide topped, big boned power heifer. She is sired by our HF Mysterio bull who is a direct son of Musgrave Big Sky. Every few years it seems you have a bull that is “gone too soon”. This is the case for Mysterio, we were only fortunate enough to have 2 breeding seasons out of him. He sired long, big topped, heavy muscled, high performing sons with lots of bone and great big feet. The kind the cowboys and the cattle buyers both like. The daughters are coming into production now and they are high performing mommas that are very milky with nice udders. 29J is bred to our Colossal son from Peakdot. His calves are born easy and are easy doin’ cattle… that is a good combo!

Allandale Georgina 23J is one of the brest bred heifers we have ever offered for sale. She is out of Coleman Bravo 6313 and Allandale Georgina 80B who has 2 Top Selling bulls that sold to Midland Cattle Co. at our Bull Sale. 80B is a deep sided, good uddered female with loads of capacity and hasn’t missed in her career.

Her granddam, Spruce View Georgina 154X is a tremendous female that is still producing at 12 years of age. She also hasn’t missed in her long career. Longevity built into 23J. She is bred to the $80,000 HF Showtime 78H bull we own with Double F Cattle Co. He was the High Selling Bull at the 2021 Hamilton Farms Bull Sale. This bred heifer is one to take a serious look at.

1J is a moderate framed female with great lines and has a nice udder setting under her. She is bred to a walking bull we used, Allandale Coalition 22J. He is an ET calf from U2 Coalition 206C and Everblack Rosebud 80Y (Donor Dam at U2 Ranch). We are all watching and seeing what the Coalition 206C progreny are doing across the land, very impressive and very wanted.

The Dutch females have good udders and lots of body. We only have a few direct daughters in the herd but Mark says you can always make some more. With her looks and her pedigree, we better just sell her so here she is. The Dutch bull we purchased from GDAR over 20 years ago just before BSE. Dwajo Dutch 65P is a paternal brother to 8J was named Reserve Grand Champion bull as a bull calf at the Sweepstakes Show at Farm Fair. On the dam’s side is a cow family that has been at our place since 1989 when we purchased 49Y from Get-A-Long Stock Farms and her genetics keep popping out good offspring like 8J. The coupon in side could be interesting as well with the first off spring of Dwajo Hostile 110J who is the natural born calve out of HF Hostage and Jestress 119Z. Some very good proven genetics in 8J the offspring to be named later.
