On behalf of DART Simmentals, Kwiatkowski Cattle and Shayson Cattle we would like to welcome everyone to our 7th Annual Bull Sale.
WOW! What a time to be in the cattle industry!! Prices are the highest any of us have ever seen and they keep increasing on a weekly basis. With the low number of cattle and the increasing human population, we can only hope these prices are here to stay.
Like the past couple of years, we feel that we have bulls that will to fill all applications. There is once again, a few 2 year old bulls, to cover some extra cows on those bigger pastures; performance yearlings, for adding pounds to the fall calf crop; calving ease bulls, to allow for low maintenance, sleep easy nights; and also bulls with high maternal traits that are strongly suited for siring your next group of replacement heifers.
Once again the bulls will be sold via video screen, with the bulls on location at the sale site for viewing. Bulls can also be viewed any time before the sale, on the farm. For those that can’t make it to the sale, we have invited DLMS back for online bidding. We strongly encourage anyone that is in need of a bull and can’t make it out to view them in person, to give one of us breeders a call so we can assist you with finding the right bull for your requirements.
As our breeding programs evolve we believe the quality of our cattle has been increasing on a yearly basis. The overwhelming attendance at last year’s sale is a testament to that. The support from our customers over the years is what keeps us motivated to continuously improve our genetics.
We hope to see everyone at the Goodridge hall on March 9th, 2025 at noon for complimentary beef on a bun and refreshments, with the sale starting at 1PM.
Sincerely,
Ryan Kwiatkowski

The pen of 2-year-olds we hold back is strictly to do with age. We grow these bulls slow to develop them to their full potential. If you look through this catalog you will see many of the same bloodlines in these bulls, which you can trace back to these guys, and compare or predict what they will grow up to be. 202L is extremely long spined, big middled, and puppy dog quiet. His twin brother was purchased by Doucet Farms at last year’s sale, and they love how he went out and got the job done.

Consistency is something I look for when it comes to selecting herd sires. The Captain Morgan cattle are known for producing high end females and top of the pen bulls. Bee Rakuten has given us nothing but consistency when it comes to birth weights, udder quality, foot quality, and temperament. 224L carries himself on a big solid foot, he has that extra rib length most cattle men look for. Mr. Lenny’s full sibling sells lot 4.
A thick built bull that walks on a big foot and moves freely. 212L traces back to the cow family that got us going in the purebred business, and where our heard developed. Mr. Linus has a build that shows longevity, and soundness, along with all the other bulls from his sire group, Bee Rakuten sure stamps his calves.

A personal favourite of mine, Mikey is a calf who is impressive from skull to tail bone. He walks with a proud stride, hauling a long spine, deep rib cage, and smooth attractive head. 224M’s dam is a young cow that has a lot going on for her with an ideal udder structure, sound feet, and big middled. I can’t get over how consistent these Rakuten sons are, so take advantage of his offspring and use with confidence.

MacGyver is a pretty cool calf that comes out of a first calf heifer, that did a bang-up job on her first go around. Just take a look at this guy’s weaning weight and yearling weight. 230M is long through his spine, with a big hip, and great eye appeal. He has a moderate birth weight that will let his calves come easy and grow fast.
I give this calf lots of credit for his development. Having his dam get sick on us midsummer we were concerned about his growth, however, when good genetics click as well as they have for this calf, we soon came to realize that this guy will be an easy keeping bull. 241M is thick from head to toe, carries a bold rib cage, walks with true stride, and shows himself very well. With connected on the top side and cowboy cut on the bottom side, this bull will calve easy, and his calves will grow.

A long spined connected son, that has been a pasture favourite throughout the season. Maximum is out of a cow we purchased from South Holden dispersal a few years back. His dam is a cow that is hard to flaw as her feet and udder quality is next to none, and she passes that on to her progeny. 205M comes with a nice white face that will pass on to his calves. If this guy doesn’t scream herd sire, I don’t know what will!

I love when a plan all comes together! I bred his dam with the hope of an ideal heifer bull candidate, and that is just what we have. With only 76-pound birth weight and generations of maternal calving ease behind him, I have no doubts this guy will cover heifers for any operation. If you see this guy in the flesh, you’ll say to yourself “Wow! Does he have a nice coat of hair!” This is only one of the many great features this bull has. He is deep sided, wide topped, and a pet in the pen. 221M has a maternal brother walking along our blacks in the herd.

A flashy deep red Stratton son, who has been a standout since day one. Maverick is a bull that carries himself very well, he is deep bodied, wide topped, and thick throughout, this guy is no slouch. His young dam was purchased from the sought after MRL program, and she gave it everything she had both times for us, in weaning top end calves. Expect no different from this guy.
Miller time is big time herd bull prospect that will only put money in your pocket. His easy-going attitude, and quality traits will make most ranchers circle his picture and rank high on their sales list. 227’s dam is a cow that puts everything she has into her calves. She’s a 1400lb cow that weans 800lb calves year after year, this guy has some serious potential to raise highly productive females.

Here is a bull that is impressive at every single angle you look at him. Extremely long made, carrying himself on a solid foot. This guy was top of the pen at weaning and yearling weights, which says a lot for a middle February calf. His dam is a cow we rank very high on our farm and appreciate her for her gentle demeanor and overall production and build. 203M is one we are very proud to offer.
Mr. Majestic has a real cool dark red color to him. He is long made, smooth built, and very catchy to the eye. He gets his name for a reason; he is a calf that no matter what he is doing he looks great doing it. 210M comes out of our new herd bull that we purchased to increase our red program’s numbers, as well as produce quality animals, and this bull proves that he is doing his job.

Mr. McGuinness is a bull that keeps getting better by the day. He packs himself on a solid foot, has a nice head and smooth shoulders. McGuinness’s dam boasts a dark red color, and a nice tidy udder. She was purchased as a heifer from Bonchuk Farms out of Manitoba, for her calving ease and performance breeding. This guy would work very well in a 2-year-old pen. If you’re an EPD guy, check out 237M; he is above average in all 13 categories.
Here is another bull out of Lewis 13K, long bodied, good hair, and is a pet when it comes to working with him. 219 comes from a high productive female, whose track record is one we appreciate. Her daughters are top of our herd, and we often look forward to seeing their efforts. If you are looking for a herd builder, this guy will fit the bill.

A Soggy made, loose hided, Lewis son, who carries a deep rib with extra muscle power, and that chrome everyone loves. This guy’s money Strip will catch the eye of many that walk through the pens. Matrix is a smooth fronted, long spined bull that gets out and moves extremely well. These Connected sons have been crowd favorites for the last couple of years and when you see 103M you will understand why. He has carried himself like a herd bull since a young age and I feel that will be his destiny.
124M is another Connected son and comes from a small framed female who is hard to fault. She is great footed with a picture perfect udder and consistently weans top end calves. Milestone is a loose hided, well balanced, honest bull who will sire highly marketable steers and daughters that you will want to retain for replacement heifers.

Mandate is a soggy made Declaration son that checks a lot of boxes. Declaration is one of our walking sires that we purchased from MRL Ranching in 2021. 58M was born with just a 75 pound birth weight, but you never would have known it with his growth rate. He has impressive calving to yearling differential with an adjusted yearling weight of 1206 pounds. His EPD profile is also impressive with 9 of the 13 categories being in the top 30% or better. Here is a bull that we believe can be used in any application.
Here is something with a little twist. Coming out of a black white faced sire and dam, is this absolute tank of a red bull with extra pigment. He is low set, with extra body and a wide top. There is extra beef throughout this guy. Coming out of 2 black parents, Marvel will be a nondiluter, so he will work on any cow herd, black or red. I can already picture a pen full of outstanding blaze faced calves that he has sired!

A red blaze faced bull that has lot to offer. 97M is nice headed smooth bodied and just really balanced overall in his design. One of the reasons we purchased Declaration for a walking sire was for his ability to sire outstanding females and we are sure impressed with his daughters so far. 97M’s dam is one of our few full blood cows and she is impressive. Perfect feet and udder, and known around the farm for her mothering ability. Last spring we actually bought back a maternal brother to 97M, that we had sold in 2021 and we are using him on our commercial cows, trying to increase milk production and overall maternal qualities. Mutiny’s daughters will be outstanding. You will want to keep every heifer that hits the ground out of this guy.
Mission is clean headed, smooth shouldered, long spined, and has a great hair coat. His dam is a docile, moderate framed cow, with lots of milk that consistently weans off top end calves. Mission’s blaze faced full brother from last year (Lot 27) was a pen favorite by many who walked through the pen but unfortunately did not make it to the sale due to injury. In my opinion 118M is more complete then his brother, he’s just missing the blaze face. With his calving ease, birth weight, and milk EPD’s being as good as they are, here is a bull that is going to calve easy and leave behind some very productive daughters.
#PG1501544 -- 02/14/24 -- DART 118M-- Polled
120M is similar in make up to the rest of the Declaration sons with his smooth, long build. However, he is the neatest headed and has a tremendous cherry red coat. Maverick carries himself very well; it is a treat to watch him move through the pen effortlessly. 120M’s dam is another full blood cow with great feet and udder. His smooth build and 90 pound birthweight make him very user friendly, not to mention his milk EPD is in the top 15% making his daughters good choices to retain as replacement heifers.
