MONDAYS

Acting (Ages 6 - 14) [Mondays & Thursdays] First Day is Thursday, Sept. 18

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition at the Kenan Center! The brilliant Kevin Leary leads students through classic roles while learning acting, singing, and dance. Along the way, they'll build discipline and creativity in a fun, focused rehearsal process, ending with public performances on November 14 & 15.

TUESDAYS

Racquet Sports (Ages 8 - 14) Our Racquet Sports program introduces kids to tennis, pickleball, and badminton through fun, age-appropriate activities. They’ll learn serving, rallying, footwork, and coordination while building confidence and enjoying teamwork.

Ages 8-14 • 5 - 6PM • $95 • Arena Sport Court

Mixed Media/3D (Ages 6 - 8) Projects in this course will involve different mediums working together like paint with pastels and plaster with wood and cardstock.

Students will learn about layers and how to use 3D elements in their own work including sculptures! They will test physics as well as their own creativity.

WEDNESDAYS

Dramatic Play (Ages 3 - 5)

Encourage your child’s creativity with a fun class full of music, movement, storytelling, and imaginative play. Taught by the talented and energetic Kevin Leary, students will build vocabulary, empathy, problem-solving skills, and social awareness, all while having a blast!

Soccer (Ages 5 - 14) Our Soccer Program is designed to teach young athletes the fundamentals of the game through fun and engaging skills, drills, and gameplay. Participants will learn core techniques such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and positioning, all while developing important social-emotional skills like teamwork, communication, confidence, and respect. Led by supportive coaches in a positive environment, this program helps kids grow on and off the field, building strong players and even stronger character.

Musical Theatre Dance (Ages 9+) Taught by Kevin Leary, Dance Captain for two Broadway national tours, this workshop leads students through classic and modern Broadway dance styles through fun, original and adapted choreography. They'll explore how story, lyrics, and action shape movement—perfect for beginners and experienced dancers alike!

THURSDAYS Creative Art (Ages 3 - 5) Give your little one a fun and supportive outlet for their creativity!

Through various hands-on artistic methods, your child will not only encourage creativity, but they’ll also improve their motor skills, social skills, and have fun doing it! Taught by Jess Tomaino.

Acting (Ages 6 - 14) [Mondays & Thursdays] Follow the Yellow Brick Road right to the Kenan Center’s of THE WIZARD OF OZ: YOUTH EDITION! Led by Kenan’s own Kevin Leary, Students will take on the familiar roles of Dorothy, Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West (Elpheba’s “Second Act”), Glinda the Good Witch, the merry Munchkins, and the Wizard himself to learn skills in acting, singing, and dance. Through the process, students practice discipline, creative problem solving, and more through our fun and productive rehearsal period. Our workshop concludes with public performances on November 14 & 15. Check the notes for the variable times in the last two weeks of the workshop!

Volleyball (Ages 5 - 10) Taught by the incredible Lea Sobieraski, our volleyball program introduces children to the sport of volleyball, focusing on developing basic skills and understanding the game. Participants will engage in fun, age-appropriate activities that teach fundamentals such as passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Our fun, supportive environment encourages teamwork and builds confidence, ensuring every child has a meaningful experience.

THURSDAYS Lacrosse (Ages 5 - 10) Our lacrosse program, run by Lockport Lacrosse, introduces children to the exciting sport of lacrosse, focusing on developing basic skills and understanding the game. Participants will engage in fun, ageappropriate drills that teach fundamental techniques such as passing, catching, and shooting. Our supportive environment encourages teamwork and builds confidence, ensuring every child enjoys learning to play lacrosse.

Digital Art & Design (Ages 8 - 12) Megan MacNeill, a coordinator on the Design team at New Era, is calling all artists and entrepreneurs! Her class will develop real-world experiences. Come up with a product or idea and learn all about graphic design, branding, and marketing! Our final class will involve presentations in front of experts in design and business.

Beginner Marketing & Design (18+) Explore available inexpensive marketing and graphic opportunities!

Taught by New Era’s designer Megan MacNeill, this class is perfect for a novice interested in getting started in graphic design or a small business owner looking to expand their marketing. Come to class with ideas and business needs!

Creative Play (Ages 3 - 5)

This program offers a safe, stimulating space for young children to explore and engage in unstructured play. It encourages creativity and independence with various toys and games, helping kids develop social skills, build confidence, and enjoy active, self-directed play.

Ultimate Frisbee (Ages 8 - 14) Our Ultimate Frisbee program introduces children to the fast-paced and exciting world of disc sports, focusing on building fundamental skills and a love for the game. Participants will engage in fun, ageappropriate activities that teach essential techniques such as throwing, catching, cutting, and teamwork. Through a supportive and engaging environment, kids will develop coordination, build confidence, and experience the fun and camaraderie of working together on the field.

Golf & Baseball (Ages 5-14) 3 Weeks of Each Sport This dynamic program gives kids the chance to explore two classic sports—golf and baseball! Each session is split between learning the fundamentals of both games, with fun, age-appropriate instruction in skills like swinging, throwing, hitting, and coordination. Participants can choose to sign up for both sessions or just focus on one sport.

Whether they’re stepping up to the tee or the plate, kids will build confidence, stay active, and have a blast learning in a supportive environment.

Bite Sized Sports (Ages 3 - 4)

Bite Sized Sports is a fun and interactive class for kids who want to explore different sports and games. Every other week our program introduces a new sport, providing a fantastic opportunity for families to learn, play, and grow together. Bite Sized Sports is a great way to introduce kids to the world of sports and encourage them to stay active and healthy. Parent/guardian attendance is required.

Summer Camp Saturdays (Ages 6 - 12) Join us for Summer Camp Saturdays, where every class is packed with high-energy games, big laughs, and classic summer fun! Kids will build friendships, practice teamwork, and grow their confidence as they play their way through relay races, group challenges, and all the best camp-style activities. It's the perfect blend of movement, connection, and learning through play!
