USER INSTRUCTIONS

At the Start:

Before any selection, the original accelerator pedal on the right is always functional and the left foot accelerator pedal is not. For safety reasons the left foot accelerator pedal has to be selected by pushing the green button after each engine start.

To use the Left Pedal:

Start the engine.

The green push button on the dashboard flashes for approximately 10 seconds. During that time push on the green flashing button to select the left accelerator pedal.

The green button stops flashing and remains on to indicate that the left foot accelerator pedal is functional.

The original accelerator pedal on the right is now non functional.

No other selection is possible until the next engine start.

USER INSTRUCTIONS

To use the original pedal:

After starting the engine do nothing. The original accelerator pedal is immediately functional.

The green button flashes for approximately 10 seconds and then turns off indicating that only the original accelerator pedal is functional.

The left one is non functional.

When going to the dealership:

There is nothing in particular that you need to do. Just turn off the engine so when the technician at the dealership starts the engine again, the original accelerator pedal will be functional. Your car will be just like any other car.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Technology:

The electronically commutable left foot accelerator pedal is designed for drivers without the use of their right leg. It can be installed in any car with automatic transmission and with an original electronic accelerator pedal.

A second accelerator pedal identical to the original one is installed on the left of the brake pedal.

A green push button installed on the dashboard enables the selection between both accelerator pedals only shortly after the start of the engine.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

In the absence of a selection the original accelerator pedal on the right is always functional. This prevents any confusion when the car is driven by a driver using his right foot.

Both accelerator pedals are never active at the same time.

The electronic circuit has passed successfully all required electromagnetic compatibility tests.

OUR HISTORY

In 1954 Jean-Pierre KEMPF, a polio victim who had lost the use of both legs, invented the accelerator ring to be able to drive his car keeping both hands on the wheel. He founded his company and by the end of his life in 2002 he had adapted over 100,000 vehicles. - 8 -

OUR HISTORY

1956:

Jean-Pierre KEMPF founded the KEMPF company in France to adapt vehicles with his invention, the mechanical accelerator ring. It became the standard hand controls in France.

The electronic accelerator ring replaced the mechanical one to be compatible with the airbag.

The electronic left foot accelerator pedal is introduced to replace the mechanical version and avoid any possible confusion by a driver using his right foot.

KEMPF Inc. was founded in Tampa, FL to adapt vehicles first for veterans from the Tampa VA but quickly started adapting vehicles for everybody.

DARIOS, the digital accelerator ring which adapts its sensitivity to the speed of the vehicle was introduced, giving an unsurpassed precision in throttle control.

A new version of DARIOS is introduced to be compatible with the new digital accelerator pedals found in several new vehicle models.

The new DARIOS 211 is designed for flat bottomed steering wheels maintaining a sleeve that slides over the flat bottomed metal ring. - 9 -
