The Golf Course
The 18-hole championship course at McHenry Golf Club is a true test of skill and strategy, offering a classic parkland layout that has challenged golfers for nearly a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole course in 1922, the club quickly expanded to a full 18-hole course by 1926, with each hole thoughtfully integrated into the natural landscape along the Fox River. With tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and meticulously maintained greens, the course provides an enjoyable yet demanding experience for golfers of all skill levels.
Known for its exceptional playing conditions, McHenry Golf Club has undergone continuous enhancements to preserve its rich character while incorporating modern agronomic practices. The course features strategic water hazards, subtle elevation changes, and smooth, fast greens that require precision on every shot. Whether it’s a casual round with friends, a club event, or a competitive tournament, McHenry Golf Club delivers a memorable golf experience rooted in tradition and excellence.
Pro Shop
The Pro Shop at McHenry Golf Club is stocked with the latest club technology from TaylorMade, Titleist and Callaway, along with top-tier apparel such as Sunice, Swannies, Adidas, NEXbelt, G/Fore, and Donald Ross. We also carry footwear from G/Fore, FootJoy, and Adidas, plus a variety of essential golf accessories.
Our experienced staff offers professional instruction tailored to all skill levels, including long game, short game, and strategic playing lessons to help golfers improve and maximize their experience. Additionally, our team specializes in customizing golf events and outings for charitable, civic, corporate, and private groups, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.

Guest Policy
We welcome guests to enjoy our facilities in the company of a member. Corporate memberships do not have additional greens fees for guests. Please review the following guest rates and guidelines:
Guest Greens Fees:
Guest: 18 holes – $75 | 9 holes – $40
Immediate Family Guest: 18 holes – $50 | 9 holes – $25
Unaccompanied Guest: 18 holes – $125 | 9 holes – $65
Guests under 15: Free (must be accompanied by member)
Cart Fees (per person, subject to tax):
18 holes – $30 | 9 holes – $18
Notes:
Immediate family includes spouses, children, parents, grandparents, in-laws, and siblings.
Guests must follow all club rules and etiquette.
