Concrete Double Curve Construction, 2019

The goal of this project is to build a simple double curve out of concrete. We are using creative and unusual materials for the form work to achieve a unique effect. Testing how material and form can create something new and possibly different from the initial intent; pushing the limits of concrete. Within the parameters of the assignment the concrete double curve is 18in x 18in x 1.5in. The fluid motion of a double curve inspired the use of more flexible materials, piano wire and burlap. This was a single attempt experiment with the review including a blind reveal to the course instructors and the entire class.
