In today’s technological world, especially in the time of Covid-19. More people are staying at home, and they are getting bored. They are looking for something to do so they are buying things for their entertainment needs. This is why it is so important to be informed about the best technology before purchasing any. With that being said, I have listed some nice items to have when it comes to entertainment and gaming. Hyperx PulseFire Surge – The PulseFire Surge mouse is a fantastic, wired mouse that goes for $40. It uses 360° Red Green Blue (RGB) lighting. It is completely customizable using the Hyperx Ngenuity software. I have been using this mouse for about a month now, and I think it is a fantastic customizable mouse. The only downside is the loudness of the click on the left mouse button. It can get annoying at times, but it is still a nice mouse, nonetheless. Astro A10 – The Astro A10 gaming headset is a cool item that goes for about $30-50. Its signature feature is the flip-to-mute microphone; the microphone is not detachable, but when you want to mute, you just flip it up. It is a wired headset with a volume wheel on the cord, the cord is also detachable for portability. I have been using the headset for about 2 years, and it is a decent headset with some good qualities being a flip to mute microphone, a detachable cable, and a volume wheel on the cord.
Raspberry Pi 3 – The Raspberry Pi is a useful device for coding and making robots, and it goes for around $30-45. You can buy a kit for the Pi which usually comes with different types of items. You can build them using the Pi. I have been using the Raspberry Pi for about 4 years, and it is a good option when I want to code or make something in the coding program Scratch.
USB hubs – USB hubs are a must-have if you have a lot of wired peripherals. The price range can be from $10-50, depending on how many ports you need. All you have to do is plug in one USB into your device and it can handle multiple inputs. I personally use a 4-port hub for my mouse, keyboard, microphone, and webcam.
Monitor and phone stands – These stands are another nice thing to have if you need more storage, or if you just want to check your Snapchat without holding your phone. A monitor stand can range from $20-50, and a phone stand can range from $0-20. It can be free if you have a box of miscellaneous Lego parts, you can easily make a DIY phone stand. A monitor stand is nice to have if you are looking for extra storage or hiding your laptop if you don’t use a PC setup. I don’t have a PC, so I use a laptop connected to a monitor through an HDMI cord. To keep my laptop out of the way, I routed my cables through the back of the stand, so I have extra desk space. I have been using a phone and monitor stand for about a month now, and they are definitely worth taking a look at.
