FARMING & MACHINERY SHOW

Hello and a very warm welcome to the 2024 Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show.
After the success of our 2023 show –with over 1,500 attendees and around 50 exhibitors showcasing all that the agricultural and farming industry has to offer – we’re excited to bring the Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show back to the brilliant Newbury Showground for its second year.
We’re very proud to bring back this show for the South and beyond for the industry to come together to celebrate all that the farming industry stands for. We hope that today gives you the chance to do just that, as well as network, get up to date on what the industry has to offer, and simply catch up with fellow farmers and agricultural workers. This is why we have brought together all the very best exhibitors our industry has
to offer, covering traders for the very best machinery and products, to financial and business services, plus much more.
We’re also delighted to welcome back Symonds & Sampson who will be hosting today’s LIVE AUCTION, which will be taking place outside in the afternoon.
There’s plenty more besides to expect today and we’re looking forward to speaking to you –so make sure you visit us on stand D5.
I would especially like to highlight our headline sponsor Köckerling for their support, plus a massive thank you to all of our exhibitors. The show wouldn’t exist without you.
Thank you for coming along to the Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show, we hope you enjoy your visit!
Rhiane Easton, Show Publisher, Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show
The Allrounder Bio is a mounted machine for full surface cultivation at a consistent shallow depth.
Can be used in regenerative, and conventional tillage systems up to 13cm depth.
Designed to work without a packer roller, so the soil and plant residue is not reconsolidated, weeds and volunteers are left on the surface to dry. (We can shorten if necessary).
Working widths from 4-7m.
Four rows of tines at 15cm spacing; up to three rows of following harrows.
Hydraulic tine angle control.
With 220mm wide goosefoot points will move all plant residue across its full working width.
Just one of the highlights for the Southern Counties Farming & Machinery Show this year is that visitors can check out the Köckerling Allrounder Bio.
On display on the Samagri stand, this is a mounted machine for full surface cultivation at a consistent shallow depth. For use in regenerative and conventional tillage systems, it’s available in various widths from 4-7m. The Allrounder Bio has four rows of tines at a spacing of 15cm, followed by
up to three rows of following harrows. The aggressiveness of these is also hydraulically controlled. When equipped with 220mm wide goosefoot points the cultivator will move all plant residue across its full working width. Designed to work without a packer roller, soil and plant residue is not reconsolidated, meaning that weeds and volunteers are left on the surface to dry. In a more conventional system, these machines can be used up to 13cm working depth.

Over 3,000 visitors attended the secondever West Country Farming & Machinery Show earlier this year, supported by more than 100 trade stands, so it’s no surprise the show will return for 2025.
“Building on the success from the first West Country Farming & Machinery Show, this year’s show attracted even more exhibitors and visitors, proving the need for a B2B farming and machinery show in the south west,” said show publisher Rhiane Easton. “Feedback from exhibitors has been great, with lots of them making business transactions on the day and plenty of leads for them to follow up on.”
With companies representing all facets of the farming industry, top machinery from
the best manufacturers, a live machinery auction and more, the West Country Farming & Machinery Show was a fantastic one-day opportunity to sample and keep up-to-date with all things farming and farmrelated, all under one roof.
There was “a large variety of machinery stands, a good auction and most importantly a great atmosphere and opportunity to catch up with friends and like-minded people,” said one attendee. “I’m looking forward to next year.”
Indeed, such was the success of the 2024 West Country Farming & Machinery Show, that the date for next year has already been announced. Mark your diaries for 19th February 2025 at the same venue of
Westpoint, Exeter. In fact, tickets are already available for those who like to be wellorganised!
One exhibitor said they were “busy from start to finish” and “took lots of leads”.
“We were impressed with the distance people travelled to visit,” they continued, “from the tip of Cornwall to the east of Wiltshire!”
The show also attracted large crowds for its live auction, courtesy of Stags, which consisted of nearly 100 lots including 12+ tractors, 4+ Land Rovers, a digger, 2 ATVs and UTVs, 5+ trailers, 30+ lots of machinery and other attachments, plus nearly 37 lots of livestock and associated equipment.
“Despite the typical British weather, we were very pleased with both the entries received and the buyers’ support for what was our debut sale at the West Country Farming & Machinery Show,” said Harvey Pile, Stags Auctioneer. “The inclusion of online bidding saw buyers from as far as Yorkshire and we were pleased to successfully sell some of the highest value lots consigned. Our thanks to all those who attended and supported the sale this year.”
The sale was indeed very successful with top prices going to a 2015 JCB 536-60 Agri
Super Telehandler which achieved £25,500, a 2003 John Deere 6320 4WD Tractor at £23,250, a 2012 John Deere 6330 4WD Tractor at £22,750, a 2019 Ford Transit 350 Dropside Van at £19,875 and a 2012 Landini 120 Dual Power 4WD Tractor at £19,250.
“Stags had a highly successful show, and will be returning for 2025 and I would like to thank our headline sponsors for their support of the show,” Rhiane continued. “I would also like to thank all the exhibitors and attendees who made the event such a success."
Put next year’s date in your diaries: 19th February 2025.
