ABOUT ME

College of Architecture-Interior Design University of Nebraska-Lincoln

As a fourth-year interior design student with a minor in landscape architecture, my passion for design and construction was ignited by my parents’ involvement in the industry. Their dedication instilled in me a profound appreciation for creativity and the transformative power of design. From childhood, I’ve been captivated by the process, finding joy in exploring innovative solutions. This passion extends beyond academia, driving me to contribute meaningfully to the built environment. With a blend of artistic flair and technical expertise, I am eager to embark on a fulfilling journey in design and construction. As I prepare to transition into the professional world, I am committed to honing my skills and making a positive impact on the spaces we inhabit.

PROJECT: The Ex Mattatio, located in Rome, was once a slaughterhouse. While utilizing the North side of the existing building shell and materials, this space is able to provide users a space to get away that radiates luxury and relaxation. Upon arriving to the front of the building you are greeted with large rectangular windows that urge you to walk into the building. The reception area is the first space upon entering. Which then prompts a decision to ascend the stairs or proceed to the hallway/restrooms. The large black marble wall at the end of the hallway and the blue walls help urge users to the Soak and Steam areas to visually show circulation within the space. The hot/cold baths are the center of the space while the saunas are in the back. Uptairs is dedicated to the Dream area which includes the lap pool, single stalled restrooms, and a small restroom.

PROJECT: Through research, it has been found that many children and adults have a Nature Deficit Disorder. This portable classroom is focused particularly on the Clinton Elementary School, in Lincoln NE, grades preK thru 5th grade. The intention for this space is to limit the use of technology in learning and encourange students to go out and experience nature as much as possible while they learn and to incorporate nature into the learning environment. While this space is mainly for students, during the afterschool hours it is encouraged that the surrounding community members enjoy the built landscape. The interior of the building includes an indoor/ outdoor classroom, workzone, quiet zone, office/meeting room, and an ADA bathroom. The landscape around the classroom includes a web like structure of trails for children, a montessori based playground and a community garden located on the westside of the building.

THE CULTIVATION STATION

College of Architecture-Interior Design University of Nebraska-Lincoln

PROJECT: The goal of this project is to create experiences in the urban interior to enhance awareness, knowledge, access, and opportunities for meaningful connection to nature for underresourced populations especially around the topics of food security and healthy foods. This space is designed for the surrounding community to learn, grow, relax, and buy. This buildings focus is to get the community aware of where their produce comes from and how to grow. To cultivate this learning there are three areas for the community. First is the Greenhouse center, this area shows how the food is grown vertically. Consumers are only allowed to watch through the glass, although there is another that is interactive for the consumers in another area. Second, The Market and pantry area, these areas are open for the community to shop and sell fresh or homemade items. Last, the demonstration center, this area is dedicated to watch how fresh food is cooked and viewers can eat the food that the cook has made. Other areas of the building include a cafe and co-working spaces open to the community.

THE MOVEMENT

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

PROJECT: The Movement is a once office highrise converted to small family housing. My proposal will aim to design three different unit types that provide support for users to work from home and family bonding, provide access to community connectiveness, and create a secure environment for families in the downtown community. To reach this goal each amenity in the multi-family housing will be geared towards the children and parents in mind. A childcare center/play center, private offices, and private workout rooms, and public outside balconies. To increase the community connectiveness the indoor playarea is available to the community to use alongside the residents. Specific to each unit, a large gathering space for families to entertain extended family or bonding time with each other and a large memory wall which includes open shelving to personalize their home.

PROJECT: Many consumers are unaware where their food comes from or how it is produced. This building would help the community understand the process from start to finish of the robotic dairy industry. The site is located on 84th and Havelock, which is mainly agricutlure area at the moment. The public takes on a journey that representes the full process of a dairy farm by using specialized views that are celebrating the importance of robotics in the industry. The views include alcoves which blur the line between barn and consumer. Part of this project includes a shipping container which would be used as a portable version. This version includes VR capabilities, a small retail portion, and the information portion.
