Welcome to #thanksKELOLAND! This quarterly digital newsletter highlights KELOLAND Media Group’s activities and involvement in our communities –the communities of KELOLAND. In this 2024 Q3 edition: KLDO returns to full power, football returns to KELOLAND, annual Pet Food Drive, and Emmy nominations announced.

KELOLAND Media Group joined parent company Nexstar to produce news specials on the growing fentanyl crisis. KELOLAND News revealed the impact locally in a special Inside KELOLAND airing the weekend of September 28. Then the Nexstar special Saving a Generation: The Fentanyl Crisis aired on September 30 here in KELOLAND and across the nation.

The KDLO-TV tower near Garden City, SD crashed to the ground in a fierce winter storm in December 2022. Now nearly two years later and 1,700 feet of construction, the KDLO-TV tower is back up and broadcasting in full power. Welcome back KDLO-TV antenna viewers!


KELOLAND Sports is back live streaming and broadcasting high school football! Each week, KELOLAND Sports features the game of the week live on KELOXTRA and live streamed on KELOLAND.com.


Augustana Vikings football returns to KELOXTRA this fall. Grant Sweeter and Jordan DeSmet are on the call for games September 21, October 5 and November 9.






Good Morning Football: Overtime premiered on KELOXTRA this fall. “GMFB: Overtime” will cover daily NFL news from around the league, interviews with players, coaches, front-office executives, and celebrities, and informative and fun discussions on the topics that mean the most to NFL fans.
Enjoy two hours of talking football every weekday morning at 9 AM with hosts Jamie Erdahl, Peter Schrager, and Kyle Brandt, and former NFL defensive end Akbar Gbajabiamila, joined by Sherree Burruss as news reporter.
BIG10 football joins the CBS collegiate lineup this season. Plus, PAC12 and ACC football fans can enjoy games on the CW in KELOLAND.

The Fanfare bus hit the road Labor Day Weekend. Jackrabbit fans traveled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to watch the Jackrabbits take on Oklahoma State. While the final score wasn’t what Jacks fans wanted, it was a great time on the KELOLAND Fanfare bus trip. See you in Frisco? Watch for more trips here.












It’s finally time for the KELOLAND Living Arts & Crafts Show Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19 at the Ramkota Hotel Exhibit Hall. Shop Friday 12 PM – 8 PM and Saturday 9 AM – 4:30 PM. Food Drive


KELOLAND hosted a Pet Food Drive with partner Lewis Drug. Generous supporters donated 6,076 pounds of pet food and $3,514 in cash. Donations benefitted Almost Home Canine Rescue and Dakota Dachshund Rescue.












KELOLAND’s Dan Santella participated in the 437 Project, a run across South Dakota to raise awareness of the mental health and suicide prevention. Hear Dan’s experience here.
KELOLAND Media Group was pleased to support the Heart Walk on August 17. KELOLAND’s team raised $207 in support of the American Heart Association.

Long-time staffers at KELOLAND Media Group gathered for the annual KELOLAND Legacy Club luncheon. Guest speaker Senator John Thune shared his vision of politics in the U.S. Senate. The legacy club honors KELOLAND employees with 20 or more years of service.
