2025 kicked off the celebration of Captain 11’s 70th anniversary. And this celebration was all-inclusive! The Captain 11 micro site on KELOLAND.com is the interactive home of everything Captain 11. Everyone was invited to share their Captain 11 memories, photos and videos. Downloadable projects let you build your own mini Captain 11 time converter.
The Captain 11 Birthday Club now has 2,000 members and climbing! Click here to join.
Drivers on 13th street in downtown Sioux Falls are greeted by a new street sign. The Captain 11 Lane sign went up on February 28, 2025.
March 7, 2025 was proclaimed Captain 11 Day in Sioux Falls by Mayor Paul Tenhaken to mark the 70th anniversary of Captain 11’s first show on March 7, 1955.
Viewers were treated to a Captain 11 marathon on KELOXTRA and KELOLAND+ March 9, 2025. You can still watch Captain 11 episodes on demand on KELOLAND+.

KELOLAND Media Group and Nexstar Charitable Foundation presented a $5,000 check to the Great Plains Zoo on March 12, 2025. The money will used to help expand the zoo and unite the Butterfly House and Aquarium onto one unified campus.
KELOLAND Media Group sponsored SME Women in Business. The March 18th event one of the region’s largest professional, educational, development, and celebratory events highlighting women. The KELOLAND booth at the trade fair featured a Captain 11 theme complete with replica time converter and Captain 11 photo standee.
KELOLAND Media Group volunteers served breakfast at The Banquet on March 26, 2025. 243 guests were served. Did you know The Banquet serves 200,000 meals annually? And 100% of the meals are prepared and served by volunteers. #thanksKELOLAND
