FORESTRY TRAILERS With five crane models and three trailer sizes, we cover the entire timber trailer segment.

All trailers come with articulated steering, an invaluable asset when operating in tough forest terrain. Articulated steering keeps the trailer on track, which makes it easier to avoid damage to bark, to drive around stumps and rocks and provide smoother and more responsive handling of the rig when reversing and turning. A rotatable tow bar prevents the trailer from dragging the tractor with it if it overturns, and a heavy-duty headboard ensures operator safety and facilitates loading.

The headboards on the 8 and 9 tonne trailers are bolted in place to facilitate removal, but this option is not available with the parallel crane model. This provides a better view when performing other tasks such as clearing ditches, lifting construction materials or if you choose to fit a Kellfri stroke harvester to the trailer. The 8 and 9 tonne trailers also have a practical transport box on the headboard to hold items such as chainsaws and fuel cans. The trailers are flat underneath, offer high ground clearance and a bogie with good climbing performance. The bogie’s 25 degree swivel angle makes it easy and safe to tackle obstacles.

With a frame extension and loose bolsters, which are easy to fit afterwards or can be installed when delivered, the trailers can be adapted for instance to handle specialised materials and brash. The braked bogie for the 8 and 9 tonne trailers makes them safer on public roads or in hilly terrain – an accessory worth the price. Four crane models meet all needs, and with outreaches from 4.70 to 7.00 metres there is a crane for every tractor. Accessories such as an external hydraulic pump for the PTO shaft can convert a smaller or older tractor into a forwarder.

Hydraulic stabilisers and double slewing cylinders, winches, which can be remote-controlled, can be fitted as standard to larger cranes. A 230 degree angle of rotation allows you to pick up timber or branches in front of the tractor using the longer cranes. Hidden hoses in the first boom and outer boom, top-mounted cylinders and hose protection on the rotator minimise damage to hoses and nipples. Angled boom and comfort hinge on the outer boom make the crane flexible and powerful, with no problem getting to timber close to the trailer or headboard. Two-lever valve block package, lightweight valve block available as accessory where the extension and grapple are electrically powered. PARALLEL GRAPPLE LOADER CRANE 5.7 M STRENGTH TECHNOLOGY RELIABILITY Kellfri’s parallel crane with standard KG21 grapple. The unique movement offered by the parallel boom operation in combination with the two-lever valve block system provides you with an easy-to-handle, powerful and flexible crane, fitted with a winch as standard.

Parallel boom operation makes the crane head move in a straight horizontal line when the first boom cylinder is activated.

This makes the crane extremely easy to manoeuvre and work close to crane/trailer safer. The parallel crane can also cope with a lower oil flow allowing it to be used on tractors with a lower pump capacity. Protected hydraulics and robust design in combination with an ergonomic two-lever valve block system and the crane’s gentle movement pattern make work more fun and more efficient. The crane can meet any requirement on the farm by fitting for instance a grapple, brush grapple or energy grapple.

STROKE HARVESTER Using a Swedish-made Parker Volvo F11 hydraulic motor, the trunks are optimally cut with a saw bar from Iggesund. The cut is clean, neat and professional as there are no traces of any splinters on the trunks.

Large delimbing force is generated even with low hydraulic capacity. The delimbing deck can be rotated 220° to allow processing from both ends. Delimbing blade pressure is adjustable, the cutting motor is well dimensioned, and protected hydraulics and a robust design and proven technology guarantees trouble-free processing.

This professional partner helps you to maximise profitability by being able to flexibly and rapidly fell and thin in the correct manner and at the right time. (Weather, price changes, adapted to stands).

Adjustable stroke of 1 to 1.25 metres works well for pulpwood and normal timber.

Cutting diameter of 400 mm, delimbing diameter of up to 350 mm.

Easy speed adjustment.

To separate branches and trunks, the timber is cut close to the machine and the pulpwood at full extension. The timber is concentrated in the crane zone and the branches in the access road, which facilitates forwarding and protects standing trees from root damage.

Flexible and easy-to-manoeuvre chopper grapple that makes it easy to get to timber, even saplings are easily cut as it can cut slender trunks up to 15 cm. Fast chopping sequence for top felling performance. Linked to the rotator and connected to the grapple’s normal hydraulic hoses.

Adjustable sequence valve manages tilt up/down excluding the need for additional hoses except those for opening/closing the grapple. 50 mm opening for rotator connection, 3/8” thread for hydraulic hoses and replaceable blade. ENERGY GRAPPLE Change from ordinary grapple to Kellfri’s Wood Chopper Grapple in about ten minutes and extend the range of applications. Simple to fit and use, no additional hydraulic outlets or electrical connections. When the grapple is fully open, the oil flows across to open the blade and tilt it up. When the grapple is completely closed around the log, all the power is transferred to the blade, which cuts 18 cm ø saplings and 30 cm ø bushes. When the cutting operation is completed, the tilt piston releases and the trunks are loaded or placed in piles for subsequent forwarding.

A single operation is all it takes to reset the hydraulics, and you have an ordinary grapple for flexible unloading.

Protected hydraulics and robust design guarantees trouble-free operation. Field edges, ditches and small thinnings, conserve energy and achieve better forestry returns.

A flexible and portable firewood processor, compact in size and a Kellfri powerhouse. The infeed and cutting/splitting functions are controlled using a lever, when the bar returns, the splitter process starts automatically. Another lever is used to only control the splitter for the final splitting stage.

Variable mechanical setting of the splitting wedge which can be used as a 2-way or 4-way splitting wedge depending on size and wood density. Electrical, hydraulic operation without a cog belt or other mechanical drives that can give trouble, large hydraulic tank and separate chain oil tank. With a total weight of 885 kg, the flail mower has everything you need for cutting saplings, grass, straw and stubble up to 40 mm high.

Forged hammer flails, each with a width of 140 mm, as standard.

The flail mower can also be operated with a closed chassis, either with or without counter blades. Using counter blades gives you better shredding of your cut grass, as the grass is retained in the mower. The counter blades help you to cut the grass shorter and more effectively, as the hammer flails have something to throw and cut the grass or straw against.

MORE ABOUT: PASTURES

The best way to help vegetation is to start the season by aerating the pasture land. This is done in March/April. Aerating the pasture oxygenates it to give it the very best conditions to start growing as soon as the weather permits.

Topping/cutting pasture land is a prerequisite for good vegetation, but the question many people ask is when is the best time during the year to top the fields?

Grass grows fastest before midsummer and it is then that the first topping should take place. Before midsummer, weeds develop so-called seed heads, which are avoided by horses, for instance. Topping before the seeds get a chance to spread also reduces the quantity of weeds, thereby evening out the rate of growth. The grass grows about twice as fast before midsummer and the rate of growth drops all the time.

Considering the fact that the rate of growth drops during the summer, it is a good idea if the animals don’t graze too close to the ground at the end of the season. The ideal grass height at the end of the season should be hand high. Not much needs to be done with the pasture land after the season except top it a little to hand-height if the animals have not grazed it down sufficiently. The grass now needs to rest and gather nutrients before the approaching winter.

The pasture land is aerated using a grassland harrow, a simple tool which is connected to the back of a tractor or ATV/quad.

There are different mowers which can be used to top the pasture, ranging from pasture toppers and flail mowers to park mowers, which can be connected to both tractors or ATVs/quads.

The grapple has a robust design with a sturdy, low frame that makes it easy to survey the work. BG3000 belongs to the second generation of bale grapples, which work without parallel operation.

The bale arms work entirely individually, which provides more careful and flexible bale handling. The reversible harrow mat enables both careful and aggressive cultivation of the substrate. The triangles (rippers) are manufactured from durable cast iron and the frame and 3-point linkage have a powerful design to withstand the strain from the substrate. HORSE JUMP TRAILER PLUS Flexible solution when you need to move horse jumps to harrow the substrate or as mobile storage of jumps.

The trailer has substantial rubber balloon wheels and the tow bar has a handle and hitch for a 50 mm ball coupling allowing it to be pulled both by towing vehicles or by hand.

There is a 50 mm ball coupling at the back of the trailer to connect more trailers if and when the need arises.

If you want to use the trailer for more than carrying jump equipment, a gate holder can be fitted to the rack to allow you to use the trailer to also transport moveable gates.

The pole rack can also be removed to give the trailer a load area of 250 x 100 cm. The floor is made of a mesh pattern so that material does not get caught on the floor.

Kellfri’s ATV mower is a powerful flail mower fitted with a flap at the back for increased speed and is towed directly behind or angled to the side behind your ATV by adjusting the tow bar.

The wheels can be mounted either on the side or behind the cutting unit. Mounting the wheels on the back of the unit enables you to cut more closely to posts and fences, for example. Increased height adjustment is more flexible; if you mount the wheels on the sides, you obtain more flexibility in relation to the ground.

The side shift adjustment attachment enables you to align your mower to the left or right. This means that your mower is at the side of your ATV, giving it better conditions for mowing the grass.

By positioning your machine at the side, you avoid driving over the grass you are going to mow, and this gives you a better mowing performance than if you had first driven over it with your ATV. To fit the attachment, release the tow bar ball hitch on your VKMATV model and attach the part of the drive tow bar in front of the tow bar ball hitch.

A major advantage of a front mounted flail mower is that you minimise compressed grass, as the flail mower reaches the grass before you drive over it yourself with your ATV. This makes cutting more effective.

BACKHOE DIGGER FOR TRACTORS FROM 70 HP The digger arm has a reach of 460 cm and the bent steel boom provides a good movement pattern. The backhoe digger digs 285 cm deep, with a powerful serrated digger bucket 50 cm in width. The reversible harrow mat enables both careful and aggressive cultivation of the substrate. The triangles (rippers) are manufactured from durable cast iron and the frame and 3-point linkage have a powerful design to withstand the strain from the substrate. STONE SORTING FORK A solid and well-constructed stone sorting fork with a reinforced humped front. The hump prevents stones already collected from sliding off while you are collecting more stones. The tines and rods in the rear and bottom are 30 mm in diameter and the c/c distance is 115 mm.
