01 The Archive L i b r a r y
The Archive is a community-centered library designed to cultivate connection, learning, and creativity. Intimate study areas contrast with expansive tripleheight spaces, creating visual connections between floors and a sense of openness. Natural light strengthens the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, while an inside-out design approach shapes the building’s box-like form. Integrated art studios and a light-filled gallery provide opportunities for community members to create, gather, showcase local artwork, and engage with one another.

01 The Archive
Project Overview This project explores the concept of boxed spaces, using an inside-out design approach in which interior experiences informed the building’s overall form. Boxed windows emphasize the structure’s geometry while creating distinct visual connections between interior and exterior spaces. The building takes on a U-shaped configuration centered around a courtyard, which serves as the focal point of the design. Within the larger structure, spatial complexity is used to define smaller, more intimate spaces within each room, creating a balance between openness, enclosure, and connection.

P a v i l i o n
This pavilion was designed as a temporary, seasonal public structure that encourages community interaction and flexible use. Serving as an outdoor gathering space, the pavilion incorporates built-in shelving that can support local business pop ups or display books from the library across the street. Its adaptable design allows the space to respond to different community needs throughout the season. By creating an accessible place to gather, browse, and engage, the pavilion strengthens connections between local businesses, the library, and the surrounding community.

Project Overview The pavilion was designed as an open, breathable structure where sunlight and air can naturally move through the space. Its curved form creates a series of intimate environments that respond to the different conditions surrounding the site. Along the active playground edge, the pavilion encourages conversation and gathering, while the busy public street offers a place to pause and rest. Toward the quieter residential side, the structure transitions into a more private reading space, with the entrance guiding visitors into the central gathering area. Integrated shelving allows the pavilion to adapt over time, holding library books or transforming into display space for temporary community and business pop-ups. Together, these spaces create a flexible public structure shaped by both its surroundings and the people who use it.

During my time at Bruner/Cott, I had the opportunity to experience the intersection of architecture, design, and marketing firsthand. Working alongside architects, designers, and marketing professionals, I helped transform the firm’s ideas and projects into compelling visual stories. From proposals and presentations to award submissions, project sheets, infographics, and social media content, each project challenged me to communicate design with a different audience in mind. Balancing multiple deadlines while maintaining the firm’s visual identity strengthened my ability to think creatively, work collaboratively, and communicate architecture beyond the built environment.

Marketing Proposal Guide Developed a comprehensive Proposal Guide outlining the step-by-step process for creating and producing architectural marketing proposals at Bruner/Cott. Documented proposal workflows, formatting and design standards, content organization, and production procedures to create a clear and consistent reference for future proposal development. The guide streamlined internal processes, supported brand consistency, and provided team members with an accessible resource for efficiently producing professional, client-facing proposals.

introduction to a proposal An introduction outlining how to set up and put together a proposal using the proposal template. WHAT IS A PROPOSAL ? A proposal is a document prepared in response to a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by a client. It demonstrates the architectural firm’s qualifications, experience, and approach to the project. The proposal is assembled to showcase how the firm’s expertise, project experience, and team align with the client’s goals and project requirements. It communicates that the firm is qualified, capable, and prepared to successfully undertake the project.
