Architecture student at the University of Sydney with a strong interest in people-centred, environmentally responsive, and sustainable design. Through my studies, I have developed an understanding of how architecture can enhance functionality, comfort, and the user experience. Beyond university, I actively contribute to the architectural community as President of the architecture club and as a first-year mentor, demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and communication skills. I am eager to apply my design knowledge and continue learning within a professional architectural practice.

The concept for this design stemmed from the idea of different datum lines, each which are contextually significant to the site and the program. The structure of the building bridges between these datum lines, creating a dynamic form which reflects this visual connection between ground and sky and also reflects the enthusiasm and flow of the natures of both basketball and yoga.

This brief calls to overcome the shortage in transitional housing for youths experiencing homelessness. The rising living and housing costs in Sydney has increased the number of people sleeping on the streets. Homelessness particularly impacts people ages 19-24, as they are the age group which has the highest rate of There are numerous causes of youth homelessness: family-related, domestic violence, mental health issues, substance abuse, and constant entry and exit out of government care facilities. They are in need of support and a better place to live temporarily, a stepping stone to help them achieve their fullest potentials.

Youths facing homelessness deserve a better chance to live like any other person, to chase their dreams and goals, and to

This design aims to tackle these issues by providing a safe, supportive environment where youths can heal, grow, and

EMBRACING THE EXISTING NATURE Preserving existing trees on site to introduce a more sustainable approach

03 Circulating Nature 2025

This project repurposes the service station on Regent Street, Chippendale, into a space for composting organic waste. The majority of the existing structure remains, preserving the heritage of the site while integrating sustainability. Composting waste creates an engaging program for Chippendale residents. People can receive produce, offering a way to give back to the community for their contribution of organic waste. The main circulation is through ramps that take people on a curated path. The journey begins in the composting area, where organic waste is disposed of through bins at various heights according to each platform. The ramps are based on Australian Standards and ensure the space is disability-friendly. This creates an inclusive, composting, and nature-immersed environment. The three main platforms serve as multipurpose spaces for leisure and nature activities. People can look below or above, experiencing unique views and atmospheres on each platform. As they navigate, they can reach out to trees and pick up some fruits.

At the top level, people encounter the towering greenhouse of double height with an opening through the slab that allows taller trees to grow, creating a vertical volume that reflects a connection between soil and sky, as plants require both for growth. The next ramp wraps around the greenhouse, leading visitors back down to the ground floor level, where the journey ends inside the greenhouse. The mesh roof enhances the natural side of the space, allowing plants like vines to grow, simultaneously engaging with the biodiversity of the environment, as insects are invited to the space. The overall circulation of the space reflects the cycle of produce growth, starting from the compost, which results in a nutrient-rich soil that facilitates the growth of the plants, planted directly into deep soil in the greenhouse and the surrounding spaces.

COFFEE PIZZA PHILLY STEAK HOT DOGS

The concept behind Through House developed from an interest in two inside-outside relationships: proximity to the exterior environment and the idea of layered elements that envelope the interior and create distance between the innermost space and the outside. Intertwining these two ideas produced the design concept of Through, where layers of walls have openings through which one can view the exterior, creating a visual connection to the exterior to promote the feeling of being close to the outside. This design emphasizes the layers through the protruding walls of the courtyard and the roof of varied heights, indicating a vertical span of layers, with the clerestories allowing light to filter into the space. Meticulously planning the placement of each opening in the walls allows for views of the surrounding environment, a rural area of a

THROUGH

A PREFERRED WAY OF LIVING

The series of sketches of activities drawn without boundaries and situated close to one another allowed explorations of unconventional furniture and spatial organization and how one would navigate through them.

The program of activities occurring in this house and their relationships with one another reflect a personal ideal way of living. A passion for music and nature is exhibited through the piano in the indoor garden planted with Australian native species that attract butterflies, the pet that comes and goes.
