KG Design was responsible for the refit of this 35m yacht, the largest Huon pine yacht in the world.
Originally built in Tasmania in 1979, extended with a super structure and then purchase by our clients, the ‘Princess Iluka’ has undergone a comprehensive refit and is now fully prepared to resume her charter operations in Australian and nearby waters.
Work included new wall and ceiling panels throughout; modification and reupholstery of furniture and new lighting, linens, and flooring.
''We've enjoyed our collaboration with the KG Design team. Keeley brings a fresh eye to marine interior fitout and while she has a sound understanding of material selections required for a commercial ocean going environment, she also has a style that speaks to timeless luxury.
Keeley is a hands-on designer able to source key pieces from suppliers worldwide that give our vessels a bespoke feel that will create a truly memorable experience for our charter guests. She is personable, assured and innovative, able to translate our vision for the project but also enhance that brief through her own elegant design aesthetic.
We would thoroughly recommend Keeley Green Interior Design for anyone in the maritime industry considering either a re-fit or new build.''

KG Design is engaged in a ‘seat-at-the-table’ capacity for the overall design direction of this 50m superyacht. The progressive design takes into consideration, both private use and charter.
The yacht was originally built in Auckland and is now undergoing a complete redesign at The Yard Brisbane. KG Design is working closely with the owners and shipyard to design all internal layouts, finishes and custom joinery.
The project requires KG Design’s expert skills to meet the client’s expectation of achieving a luxury vessel as seen in the renders on the following pages. Our tailored approach includes space planning; construction processes; furniture design; sustainable practices; finishes and decor.
With a comprehensive understanding of our clients vision for this project, KG Design created a branding package for use on the yacht and marketing materials.
The Koru (Māori for ”loop or coil”) is a spiral shape based on the appearance of a new unfurling silver fern frond. It is an integral symbol in Māori art, carving and tattooing, where it symbolises new life, growth, strength and peace. Its shape “conveys the idea of perpetual movement,” while the inner coil “suggests returning to the point of origin” The Koru motif is the cornerstone of much Māori art.
The Maori people of New Zealand call abalone Paua. It can be found in the coastal waters off of New Zealand. Paua shells are usually about five inches and ovalshaped. The Maori people eat the meat of the shell, which is a Maori delicacy. They then use the shell to make jewelry and other special gifts for trading.
The Maori people used this shell in warrior artwork. They would use it as the eyes of these warrior and other demi-God figures. Contemporary art in New Zealand still incorporates these spiritual shells into their craft.
We help clients through the journey of building and renovating their homes.
