Ailanto Design
Ailanto Design is a collaboration between Amanda Ferragamo and Keeley Green. It is inspired by the natural world with authentic designs using bold colours and patterns. The name itself stems from the wild Ailantus plant that blossoms in the spring all over the Italian countryside.
Ailanto Design produces unique wallpaper, fabric and furniture designs each drawn and painted by Amanda Ferragamo. The unique wallpaper and fabric designs, both custom and bespoke bring interiors to life, providing guidance to both experienced industry professionals as well as the general public.

Lead Designer / Director
Keeley Green is the owner and lead interior designer at KG Design. With 15 years' experience in property development and the retirement living industry, formal training at the Florence Design Academy in Italy and a successful design studio, south of London, Keeley brings a refined sense of grace, character and a keen eye for quality to each and every project. Keeley's comfortably elegant design aesthetic translates across bespoke commercial developments, luxury residential properties and yachts.
While living in London, Keeley co-founded luxury hand-designed wallpaper and fabric brand Ailanto Design, in partnership with creative luminary Amanda Ferragamo. Keeley returned to Australia in 2017, establishing a studio in Brisbane and introducing Ailanto to the Australian market. Her studio is located in Brisbane's design hub of Newstead and is an inviting space to collaborate with clients on the creative, practical and budgetary elements of their property or yacht.
Keeley has an enduring passion and drive for creating spaces that are comfortable, elegant and functional using sophisticated design that will stand the test of time.

Co-founder & Property Dev. Advisory
Shaun brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a co-founder of KG Design. He began his career in property. Responsible for acquisitions, he is adept at working through the feasibility process and project management, specialising in sub-regional shopping centres and retirement villages.
With a degree in interior design from QUT, Amy specialises in high-end residential and boutique commercial projects. Her passion lies in space planning and the detailed finishes that truly make a space sing.

Full design including conceptual design, space planning, detailed design and procurement.

Project Timeline
Initial meeting
Initial client/designer meet and greet to establish how KGD can assist and the scope of the work required.
Intro to Programa
KGD uses 'Programa', an interior design project management software. We use this program to share mood boards, important documents and schedules. Everything in one place.
Creative direction
Conceptualising design solutions through the provision of agreed mood boards. This allows us to agree upon a creative direction.
Detailed design & final documentation
All choices are finalised from creative direction and detailed plans, drawings, and schedules are prepared. We also obtain accurate pricing at this time.
Project delivery
This is the most exciting part and includes the procurement of agreed goods including ordering, delivery and installation.
Our design process
At KG Design, our objective is to offer you the highest callibre of design solutions, working with you to produce your vision. All detailed design information and schedules are stored in our online project management software. Access is available to all team members for real time updates and accuracy for the duration of the project.

Downsize - Beach House

The renovation of a highly coveted water front home owning to the high water mark.
Originally build in 2008, this property was renovated for a couple downsizing in size but not quality.
KG Design maximised the ocean view by lifting the door heights and changing to mullion free bilfold doors. The team also increased the patio footprint by extending and wrapping the structure to maximise the indoor/outdoor connection and living.
The team redesigned the kitchen, bathrooms and outdoor kitchen, selected new flooring, tiling, bifold doors and cladding finishes. All furniture and window treatments were replaced.

A Queensland beach house refurbished for use as a holiday home for an expat family who loves to come home.
With absolute beach-front access, the home was originally built in the 1970's and was under renovation for our client when KG Design came on board.
Having previously worked with the client in the UK, KG Design was entrusted to complete the renovation in their absence. The owners are avid cooks with young children so the kitchen was the first redesign to take into account the marine location. New joinery and benchtops, appliances and a linen-based mural, hand-drawn and coloured by Amanda Ferragamo, sits behind toughened glass. The kitchen also features a servery that opens to a luxurious outdoor sitting area overlooking the beach and ocean.
Existing flooring was sanded and recoloured. The master bathroom was redesigned and finishes. All other ensuite bathrooms were left in tact. New furniture and wall coverings were sourced including a gorgeous piece from MJ Alterier in Los Angles.
Historic Country Home

A historic Old Vicarage transformed into a stunning family home in the English countryside.
The facade was left in tact and the interior was completely renovated to integrate with a modern three storey extension to the back of the house. An annex building was also constructed on the grounds with a basement to house the home cinema, cellar and control room. Home offices were located on the ground floor.
The house is future-proofed with an energy-effiecient groundsource heat pump to heat and cool the home, a 'Lutron' home automation system, and swimming pond. There's a nod to nostalgia from the specially commissioned gas lighting in the garden and on the entry walls.
KG Design oversaw all internal architecture, kitchen design, bathroom design, joinery design (cabinetry and paneling in each room), selection of hard finishes, fixtures, fittings, equipments and furnishing. We also designed and sourced external lighting.
