FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DO YOU HAVE TO HAVE CYCLING EXPERIENCE TO GO TO ON A KE CYCLING HOLIDAY?

A basic level of cycling ability and fitness is required on all of our cycling trips, whether you are hoping to cruise through a new destination with relative ease, or push yourself and tackle some of the world’s hardest routes. To show the relative difficulty of our cycling holidays, each trip is graded on a scale of 1 to 12, with 12 being the most challenging. For more about our grades visit keadventure.com/grades

WILL I NEED TO BRING A HELMET?

WHAT DO I HAVE TO CARRY?

In short – yes! You must wear a helmet at all times when on a KE cycling holiday and these are not provided with your hire bike. Speak to your local bike shop if you need advice on buying a new helmet before you travel if you do not currently own one. You must take one with you.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY LUGGAGE WHILE I AM CYCLING?

Your main bag will be transported each day in the support vehicle which will often accompany the group. You may be able to access your main bag during rest stops and you will be reunited with your luggage each evening at your destination.

Most of our cycling holidays have a support vehicle and there are regular stops to regroup, pick up water etc. On our road cycling holidays you can choose to carry nothing at all, whilst on some of our adventure biking holidays that have more limited access to the support vehicle, you may want to carry a small day-pack.

WHAT IF I CAN’T KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP

Don’t worry. It’s not a race. It’s normal for there to be different fitness levels and the tour guide will make sure there are regular stops to allow for regrouping.
