Highlights The Asian and Abrahamic Religions: A Devine Encounter in America

Explore the beliefs, practices and rituals of Hinduism, Buddism, Jainism and Sikhism. This in–depth look at the differences and surprising similarities among the polytheistic Asian religions and the monotheistic "Abrahamic" faiths of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Also examined are the challenges of interfaith marriage and the difficulties in maintaining one's cultural and religious heritage in a largely Judeo–Christian environment. Three Faiths, One God: Judaism, Christianity, Islam An examination of the religious beliefs and practices shared by Jews, Christians and Muslims illustrates how many in the Abrahamic faith communities are dealing with historical conflict. The religious practices of the three faiths are contrasted, including the rituals of fasting and marriage. Also featured, a dramatic example of reconciliation as the father of a murdered reporter opens a dialogue between Muslim and Jews to create better understanding between the two faiths.
