Opaque Solid Colour Acrylic Sheets Materials
Manufactured in different ways, resulting in different properties, Technology Supplies’ range includes both cast and extruded acrylic. Cast is made from a mould while extruded is fed through an extruder barrel. Extruded has a better thickness tolerance although the cast is of higher quality and offers better optical properties.
Cast Acrylic Sheet Opaque
Most of TSL’s range consists of cast acrylic which is more commonly used as it is lightweight but rigid, provides a great finish when used on a laser cutter, and offers strong UV protection. Extruded acrylic is often used as an alternative to glass as it is very impact resistant and less expensive. It also has the advantage of being thermoformable (can be used in vacuum forming) but it isn’t available in as wide a range of finish and colours as cast acrylic. 600

Acrylic Rod Light Gathering Asorted

Modelling Materials Materials
Polyethylene Foam Blue
Polyethylene sheet is an equivalent material to Plastazote sheet having similar properties and applications. It has the added advantage of being available in thicker sheet sizes without having to be laminated.
PVC Foam Sheet
Plastazote Foam
Plastazote is a blown polyethylene sheet which has a wide range ofapplications such as sports gear, packaging, cushioning, toys andgames. It is inert and lightweight, tough, flexible, resilient and is highly energy absorbent.
Easily fabricated and can be thermoformed using standard vacuum forming or heat impression moulding techniques. Wide operating temperature range. Exhibits chemical and water resistance. Size: 1000 x 500mm.
Ravatherm XPS
Ravatherm XPS block is fine grain and can be sawn, carved and sanded to shape. It can be glued together using a water based contact adhesive. 1200 x 600mm in 50 & 75mm thicknesses.
PVC foam sheet has smooth surfaces and is only half the weight of standard PVC sheet; it is often referred to by trade names such as Forex, Foamex and Komacel. It is easy to fabricate, is self-extinguishing, non warping, non corrosive, non toxic, resistant to weathering, has low moisture/water absorption and lowers noise. It can be sawn, drilled, milled, painted, printed, welded, thermo formed, line bent, screwed, riveted and glued with both solvent and contact adhesives. It is ideal for CNC machining. Double sided tape 950-432 is ideal for joining flat surfaces together. It is available in white plus a range of bright primary colours. A good alternative to MDF and acrylic sheet. Please note, sheet sizes are nominal. This material is NOT suitable for use on a laser cutter.
Modelling Materials Materials
Foamboard
Foamboard is an expanded polyurethane core sandwiched between outer layers of paper. Ideal for modelling and display work. It is light, rigid and can be glued with nearly any adhesive. It can be folded, bent, interlocked and joined in many ways. The surfaces can be painted and coloured with a wide variety of media.
Sheet thickness: 5mm.
Craftfoam Grey
Blue Craft foam. This material is easy to cutand shape, mould and bond. Craft foam is light, strongand moisture resistant.
Sheet size: 600 x 600 x 150mm.
Polypropylene Sheet Opaque
An extremely tough plastic for durable folders, binders, boxes and dispensers. Score before bending to produce a plastic hinge that can be folded millions of times.
It is virtually impossible to tear, resistant to water, oil, most chemicals and high temperatures and is impermeable.
Sheet size: 1100 x 650 x 0.8mm
Modelling Board
A very high density material with a close structure. Suitable for prototyping, modelling, patterns and CNC milling & cutting. It is strong and provides good surface detail and can also be used as a mould for vacuum forming. Modelling board can be both painted and glued.

Easy to cut, drill, saw & paint, even with cellulose paints, can be vacuum formed & joined with plastic cement (Tensol No.12).

Plastic Wax Bar
For general prototype work and for lost wax casting. Dimensionally accurate, has a good surface finish it can be turned, drilled, milled, threaded, sawn, moulded, carved and polished.
Laser Engraveable Laminate
Butyrate Tube
A range of coloured rigid plastic tubes with a wide variety of uses, all are 760mm long.
Polyethylene, a low temperature material which is very easy to mould and gives a slightly flexible moulding. Surface gloss is acceptable but not as good as Polystyrene. Melting temperatures: Elastic100°C / Plastic - 170°C / Degrade - 220°C
This two layer laminate is specially made for laser engraving. It is 1.6mm thick and suitable for indoor use.

Polymorph
Polymorph has all the characteristics of a tough engineering material yet it fuses and becomes easily mouldable at just 62°C. It can be heated with just hot water or a hairdryer and moulded by hand to create prototypes, vacuum forming moulds, models etc.
Low Odour Rubber Stamp Material
Rubber stamp material in A4 size and 2.3mm thickness. Grey in colour and works great with laser cutting and offers little odour when cut.

MDF Sheet
The resins used in bonding Medite ExteriorMDF contain no formaldehyde. This results in very low emission rates due only to the natural wood itself. Sheet size: 600 x 400mm

Antex soldering irons are lightweight and perfectly balanced with polycarbonate handles. The tip is designed to minimise heat loss so that a 25W Antex iron is equivalent to many other 40W irons. All of our Soldering Irons are fitted with Silicone Rubber cable which reduces the danger of melting the cable with the hot tip. The irons are available in 240 and 24V. All mains voltage irons are fitted with a 13a plug. 24V Irons are fitted with a 3 pin plug for PSU.

BT Drill Guard 64mm Collar
The guard 590-204 is suitable for many of the drilling machines found in schools. It attaches to a non-rotating collar of 21/2” (63.5mm) dia and is tightened by means of a pinch bolt. It is injection moulded in clear polycarbonate allowing clear vision through the body and visor and it hinges up for drill changes. There are two sizes each consisting of nylon coated steel members carrying polycarbonate extension visors which can be adjusted in the vertical and horizontal planes to clear protruding vices, jigs or fixtures. GABRO guillotine notchers are suitable for bench and stand mounting. They completely eliminate the distortion of material associated with conventional guillotines. They do this by progressively blanking out a thin strip of material, leaving both sections entirely undistorted and free from sharp burrs and edges.
Sheets of unlimited size can be cut and notched up to the maximum thickness rating for each machine. All machines are supplied with an angle guide/backstop, line guide, side fence and nibbling steady.

Gabro BF620-2 Box Pan & Folder
GABRO folders use sections of standard steel angle cut as required for folding box ends. A narrow bed ensures that return bends can be made with the component suspended inside the machine. The Clamp Bar can be removed so that brackets and channel sections can be formed round it. The Clamp Bar clamps the component and bends the sides so that the backstop holds the finished width irrespective of blank variations. A particular feature is the Selective Bending Device which enables interrupted or partial folds to be made simply and quickly. Thicker strip material can also be folded for manufacturing brackets due to the height adjustment of the Clamp Bar. Sublimation is defined as turning a solid into a gas and back into a solid, without any liquid stage. This allows the application of sublimation inks onto a material’s surface using a Heat Press to provide the required combination of heat, time and pressure. This combination causes the inks to be converted from a solid to a gaseous state enabling them to penetrate the surface so that a permanent, full colour image is formed. The colour penetrates the material giving a result which is long lasting, colourful and resistant to scratching. Dye Sublimation should not be confused with other dry laser processes that transfer the images to the surface of materials making them easy to scratch off. True Dye Sublimation uses wet ink technology. Suitable materials for sublimation are man-made polymers such as Polyester and PVC. These can be ‘hard’ such as a polyester coated sheet of aluminium, ceramic tiles or ‘soft’ such as poly cotton textiles. During the heat press stage, the pores of these polymers open to allow sublimation ink (now in a gaseous state) to enter. As the temperature drops, the pores close, leaving the now solid ink image as part of the polymer.

PECT Trunking Mains
The rugged steel constructed body and facia panel are assembled with tamper proof screws, requiring a dedicated driver (supplied). The trunking is modular and designed to mix and match types together into continuous runs including corner sections using joining brackets. The low voltage electronics have affective and safe short circuit protection built-in which immediately shuts the supply down if a short is introduced and resets when that is removed. The system is now provided with a buzzer alarm when a short circuit is produced.
This trunking provides mains power only. They are fitted with two twin 13A switched sockets internally wired. Available also with 24v soldering iron sockets and other standard options.

This machine eliminates the difficulty of conventional cutting methods in vacuum forming projects. This machine is excellent for cutting out vacuum formed mouldings from the sheet in which they are formed. With very little practice, accurate cuts which require minimum finishing can be achieved. The machine is safe for children to use under normal supervision. Clarke Model 145 Vacuum Form Cutter / Profile Router trims light gauge vacuum formings up to 3mm thick. It uses a 125 watt motor and router bit combination mounted in a unit measuring 355 x 380 x 380mm. The combined fence and guard protects the user from the cutter and enables fine detail to be trimmed safely. It will trim right up to an edge or leave a flange as desired. CR Clarke Model 25 Injection Moulder
Provides a clear demonstration of the principles of injection moulding. This machine features a temperature controlled heating barrel, rack and pinion injection ram, over centre mould closing, automatic moulding ejection and is supplied with a wheel mould (flat upper & shaped lower mould) and 2kg of red polystyrene granules. To operate the machine, plastic granules are loaded into the heating barrel. After a short pre-heat time, the plastic is ready to inject. The mould is closed and the injection ram lowered. This action automatically opens a valve in the injection nozzle and the plastic is injected. Once the mould is full the ram is retracted. The heating barrel rises on its return springs, closing the valve. After cooling the mould is opened and the moulding is ejected by pins in the mould cavity. Requires permanent fixing or bolting down. Safe and easy to use.

This folding jig from C R Clarke is a useful accessory to their range of strip heaters. The jig has a working length of 600mm and is adjustable from 160° obtuse to 30° acute.
The jig’s calibrated protractors ensure consistent setting, with hand knobs for easy adjustment. The adjustable work stops can also be used to hold the material in the folding jig, allowing the operator to continue with other work while the folded material cools.

CR Clarke Schred Recycling System
Schred is an in-school recycling system. This equipment is suitable for use with most types of commonly used plastic such as HDPE and LDPE (the material that most milk bottles are made from). The shredded material is sprinkled onto a moulding tray. This is then loaded into the heat press, and pressure is applied. This softens the material and fuses the granules together. The finished sheet is not as homogenized as, for example, a commercially moulded part, but is perfect for low-stress applications. The R30 press can form sheets up to 458 x 305mm in size. One frame is supplied with the machine to make a sheet 458 x 254mm, other sizes are available to order. The process works as follows:

• Shred them in the R25 Schredder, reducing their volume by 95% and creating a usable material

CR Clarke 320 Dome Blowing Unit
The 320 Dome Blowing Unit consists of a rigid base with a heatproof seal plate that has perforations to allow air to be injected. A sheet of thermoplastic material, normally cast acrylic, is heated in an oven to its softening temperature. The material is transferred to the Dome Blowing Unit and is clamped into position.
Air is blown under the sheet using the control valve on the front panel, inflating the dome. An adjustable height gauge assists the user to achieve consistent dome heights. Once cooled, the dome is unclamped and is immediately ready to use.
The 320 requires an external air supply, this can come from a compressed air supply or the Pressure Outlet of one of our Vacuum Forming Machines.
The 320 is supplied with rings to make domes of 300, 225 and 150mm in diameter.
