How did you come to be a florist?
My flower journey began at the age of 14, when I secured my first job at a family-owned garden center. This blossomed into a series of roles in other familial landscape and garden enterprises, leading me to declare horticulture as my college major. Yet, as destiny would have it, I veered towards my other passion—music—spending 15 years nurturing the flourishing careers of country music artists. In 2017, I closed my promotion and marketing firm in Nashville, and alongside my husband, returned home to my love for flowers. It was then that I stumbled upon the world of cut flower farming and eagerly immersed myself. We began with a modest 700 tulips in our inaugural season, showcasing our bouquets at Very Violet, a local home decor shop. Throughout my journey in cut flower cultivation, I discovered an irresistible pull towards floral design and invested in my education. Nearly eight enchanting years later, we have blossomed into a storefront with a full floral design and production studio, nestled in the very location where our bouquet-selling adventure first took root.
What is your favorite part about being a floral designer?
Being a part of our community and forming meaningful connections with others through the beauty of flowers is truly amazing. I believe that flowers convey emotions and messages when words fall short. By harnessing the joy and elegance of flowers, I can assist people in expressing what matters most. I cherish the opportunity to collaborate with couples, designing floral elements that reflect their unique identity as a couple and enhance the ambiance of their special day.
does company name mean?
“Bel Fiore” pronounced, “BELL- FEE- OAR - EE,” means “beautiful flower” in Italian and is my way of honoring the 2 Italian American families I grew up working for along with my heritage.

We design florals for a variety of celebrations and provide an à la carte menu ideal for small weddings or for those wishing to allocate their budget toward personal florals for the wedding party. Our full-service option caters to couples seeking a comprehensive floral design experience, where we engage in every detail of their special day, from selecting linen colors to collaborating with other vendors to craft memorable floral moments throughout the event.
What is your number #1 tip when prioritizing your floral needs?
Invest in floral elements that will be prominently displayed and frequently photographed. If a floral arch is a priority but you also have numerous guest tables, consider a combination of smaller centerpieces, bud vases, and candles. This approach can help reduce costs, allowing you to allocate a greater portion of your budget to elements that will create a more significant impact.
What is one thing you wish more people knew about hiring a wedding florist?
Floristry encompasses so much more than just flowers. When you collaborate with a talented design company like Bel Fiore Co., you gain access to expertise in flower varieties, colors, sourcing, and harmonizing all these elements. Our unique advantage lies in our extensive knowledge of flower cultivation and our strong relationships with farms both locally and across the United States, complemented by trusted suppliers who help us secure the finest blooms. We are well-informed about seasonal availability and know the best growers for specific flowers (and sometimes, they come directly from our own farm).
Behind the scenes there is a significant amount of preparation, coordination of logistics, not to mention the labor that goes into creating each piece and for our onsite installations, the engineering and building of each floral structure. Many people assume they are only paying for flowers; however, with a skilled florist, you are actually investing in their expertise, creativity in crafting floral art, and their ability to manage all the intricate details and logistics for your special day!
As a 4th generation Missouri entrepreneur, I have a genetic draw to being in business and helping people. Growing up, my grandmother was the ultimate baker always making the most stunning, delectable and delicious desserts…then telling us how they could’ve been made better! I was watching, listening and learning. I initially started baking through Girl Scouts, then for my friends and family, then learned the craft from trained professionals and after that it was a lot of trial and error. At the holidays, I hosted a “kookies and karaoke” event which was more champagne than talent, but it led to a desire to sweeten celebrations which eventually led me to open a bakery. Now I am known as “Kansas City’s Sweetest Lawyer” because I am both a confectioner and a counselor at law.
We generally are asked for cakes, cookies, cupcakes, macarons, pies, cookie cakes and cheesecakes. Modern dessert tables are very popular right now, as they offer the greatest variety but classic tall, tiered cakes are still extremely popular. You name it and we can get it done. We love incorporating YOU into your special day.
We have a range of ways we can host your wedding, rehearsal dinner or any event for that matter. You bring us your ideas, and we will work on a custom plan that will meet your needs.

Our DJs are true professionals who specialize in live mixing, ensuring your wedding has a seamless flow and an energetic atmosphere. We prioritize creating a memorable, personalized experience for every couple by reading the crowd and tailoring the music to match the mood of the moment.

We work closely with couples to understand their vision, preferences, and style. Whether it’s curating the perfect playlist, setting the mood with lighting, or offering unique effects like cold sparks, we tailor every element to reflect their personality and make the celebration one-of-a-kind.

Our VIP package is the most popular, including DJ services for both the ceremony and reception, along with uplighting to set the perfect ambiance.
