Can you share a bit about the history of your venue?
Originally established as Roan Ridge Farm, our property is deeply rooted in Kansas City’s rich cattle trade history. In the 1930s, it was owned by Wilber A. Cochel, editor of The Kansas City Star, who raised shorthorn cattle here. By the 1800's the property had evolved into a private social club and corporate retreat. During the era, the 7,000 sq ft mansion featured luxury amenities including a deep mahogany bar, a two-acre pond, a registered helipad, and a regulation croquet field. Today, we preserve that legacy through the estate’s architecture and craftsmanship, blending historic charm with modern celebrations.

The Pavilion is intentionally designed as a blank canvas with character— meaning you can go minimal and let the natural setting shine, or fully transform the space with florals, lighting, and décor. Your wedding won’t look like anyone else’s unless you want it to. We have an extensive design inventory all in house to make our wedding venue look like YOUR wedding venue. Don't stress--we'll take care of the rest!
