12-9 Months -Location Location Location: The venue that you choose is the skeleton in which the rest of your event is built around. The sooner you can lock this in, the sooner you can book all of your other vendors. -Vendor Selection: Oftentimes, your venue will have a preferred vendor list that you can look through to help you get a few ideas of whom to research. You will save yourself a lot of stress and heartache if you hire vetted professionals that you can trust. -Squad Goals: Decide who and how many people you would like to have in your wedding parties. Decide if you want to have ushers, special readers and performers or have anyone else walked down the aisle.

More than likely, someone's clothes will need to be adjusted so all of the party members should get accurate measurements taken to help mitigate this hiccup. -Pretty Paper: Start shopping for invitation suites so that you can get “Save the date” cards that match all the other papers. You should have “Save the date” cards sent out about 6 months out from your wedding date. -Wedding Website: These are great for getting more information to guests, highlight more about you as a couple, and best of all, gives you a digital place for people to RSVP if they so choose. 6-33 Months -Beautiful You: Begin researching beauty vendors. You need to know if they can travel to you, how many people will need services, and if they can execute the style you are after. Save the trials for closer to the wedding. -You're Invited: By now you should have narrowed down and edited your guest lists so that you have a rough idea of how many invitations you need to purchase. You should allow yourself time to compile your invitations once they arrive so that they can be sent 6-8 weeks before your wedding. Oftentimes, couples forget that once they get the invitations they have to put them together, stamp, and address all of them. If that sounds daunting, be sure to enlist lots of help or employ a service. (Yes they have those!) BOOK BEAUTY VENDORS

3 Months -Gangs all here: You should have all of your vendors selected and booked by this point. Each vendor can advise you (or your wedding coordinator) when the deadline is for decisions. It's ok to feel overwhelmed but if you have hired seasoned professionals, they have it down to a science and they won't let you fail. -Gladly accepts: At the 8-6 week mark, you will be finalizing your guest list, sending out your invitations, and then getting back RSVP cards. Final counts are often due to vendors 2-4 weeks before the wedding so get your numbers squared away. -Order it: Begin ordering all of the little things you will need for the wedding. 1 Month -Pre-party party: You should be having all of your showers and bachelor/ bachelorette parties. Don't forget to send out thank you notes! If any gifts arrive early, write a thank you note right away to send later. -Test it out: In the month before your wedding, you should make sure to have all of your final trials for Beauty, catering, and cake scheduled. Make sure you know all the deadlines for decisions so that you can be ready when your vendors ask for final numbers and designs. -Dressed for Success: Everyone should have all of their wedding clothes in hand or scheduled for delivery. Make sure you have addressed any flower girls or ring bearer outfits and spoken to any ushers about what they should wear. 1 Week -Check Check Check: The week before your wedding, you (or your planner) will need to touch base with every single vendor to make sure you are on the same page about the timeline and expectations. Triple check that everyone has the clothes that they need and send out the timeline so everyone knows when and where to be. Make sure you have your wedding license in hand. -Final preps: The week before you should be doing your final beauty preps such as nails and hair coloring. Make sure your sleeping arrangements for before and after the wedding are all set and you have adequate transportation for both. Make sure anyone who is giving a speech has practiced and is ready to go. If you can, get copies of these speeches in case they are forgotten.

The Weddingg Day -Delegate: It is very hard for some couples to delegate important tasks. On this day it is very important that you do not spend the whole day running around. If you have not secured a professional coordinator for this day, at least designate a point person who will have all the answers and contact information for the day. Every bride’s journey to finding her dress is unique. What worked for your friend, might not work for you.

Set a budget! Don’t set yourself for disappointment by trying on a $10,000 dress when your budget is $2,500.

Give yourself plenty of time to not just look, but for the whole process. It can take 8-10 months from the time you start looking to when your dress is delivered.

Don’t bring a large entourage to your fitting appointment. It can be overwhelming. Bring a few people whose opinion you truly respect and trust.

You’re going to fall in love with a dress and that’s when you know you’ve found “the one.” Also, you cannot force the connection.

Be open-minded to different styles. Try on dresses that might differ from what you orginally wanted.

Bring heels similar to the height you’ll wear on your wedding day.

TIPS FOR CREATING THE PERFECT REGISTRY

Register at a minimum of three different stores. This way if your guests are from out of town, they will most likely have a store nearby. You can also create online registries.

Break registering into multiple days. Trying to get it all done in one day will become overwhelming. Think bedrooms and bathrooms in one day, tackle the kitchen department another day.

Register for gifts in all price points. This way your guests can choose a gift they know you’ll love at a price they can afford.

Be careful not to register for seasonal items. If you are registering nine months ahead of time, they may not have these items when your guests go to purchase them for you.

If you’ve already built your home together, think of some good ideas for an alternative gift registry. Try a honeymoon fund or donations to your favorite charity.

Think about the style of exit you want to have. Is it a more formal affair? Then a classic limousine or vintage car is the way to go!

How many people do you need to transport? When your wedding party is very large, you may need more than one vehicle. You might also consider a luxury bus.

Transportation companies will need you to book their services for at least two hours. So put this time to good use. This is a great opportunity to go take some fun pictures with your wedding party off-site.

Some ideas for guests: Make sure you enclose directions from the ceremony to the reception. This can be a huge help to out-of-town guests. You could also include information for shuttle services and rental companies if you expect many out-of-towners.

When booking valet services for your reception, most require a minimum car amount. Be sure to check on this before you book. Most services will have one valet for every 20-25 cars.
