s the days get shorter and shorter and the darkness seems to seep in from everywhere, this is the season that reminds us most to give. It is also the time when we can be the light in the darkness for someone else. In doing so, we can help others around us see what it means to truly give of oneself, but we can also light our own way. Our simple acts of kindness are much more powerful than we know. These pages hold information from many non-profit organizations in Kansas City about how we can best support them, and the work they are doing to lift people up. Through them, hopefully we can make the light in the darkness a little brighter. This year Give KC is sponsored by The University of Kansas Health System. The University of Kansas Health System is part of the region’s premier academic health system. Services include lifesaving care for complex conditions. Its cancer program is part of The University of Kansas Cancer Center, one of 56 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers. Learn more at kansashealthsystem.com. Our cover this year is designed by Kansas City native, Jess Bundy. Jess is a self-taught artist who focuses on watercolor and ink creations. Her vibrant and colorful pieces center around Kansas City and pop culture. She can be found at pop up events around Our Town, along with her Etsy shop, etsy.com/shop/beautifeltshop or on Instagram @Beautifelt. We hope that throughout these pages, you will find new ways to support your favorite organizations or discover new ones that need your generosity. The digital version of Give KC will be released on Giving Tuesday, November 28th, to subscribers of our e-newsletter, The Insider. Please join us in celebrating these wonderful non-profit organizations, as your small action can make a lasting impact.
