Granite Edvance awards $27,000 in student scholarships

GraniteEdvanceis pleasedtoannounce therecipientsof itstwo-yearandtradeschoolscholarshipforthe 2026summerterm.During thislatestscholarship window,thestatewidenonprofitawarded$27,000in scholarshipsto19Granite Statestudentsattending two-yearprogramsand tradeschools.

“We’reexcitedtocontinuesupportingstudents ofallbackgroundsand

pathwaysinpursuingtheir goals,”saidGraniteEdvancePresidentandCEO Christiana Thornton.“We’veheard frommanystudentsthat thesescholarshipstruly makeadifferenceintheir abilitytostayenrolledin school,whilealsosignaling ourconfidenceinthemas futuremembersofour workforceandcommunities.”

Scholarshipsranging from$1,000to$1,500were

awardedtoNHresidentsattendingtwo-yearprograms andTitleIV-eligibletrade schools.Awardeescome fromalloverthestateand arepreparingforawide rangeofcareers.

Scholarshipsfortwo-year andtrade-schoolstudentsarenowbeingoffered threetimesayear,tobetter supportstudentsinpursuingeducationgoals throughouttheyear.

“Thissupporthasmadea meaningfuldifferencefor

meandmyfamilybyeasing financialstressandallowing metofocusmorefullyon myeducation,”saidRosainesGuerrero,aspring termscholarshiprecipient andstudentatNashua CommunityCollege.

WhiteBirchCenter welcomedlocal youthandfamilies toaprevieweventforthe newYouthHubattheCornerstoneBuildinginHennikeronMay12,markingan excitingstepinexpanding opportunitiesforareapreteensandteens.

Studentswhoparticipated inYouthHubfocusgroups andsurveyswereinvitedto experiencethenewspace theyhelpedshape.Youth enjoyedpizza,games, painting,tablehockeyand otheractivitieswhileexploringtheHubandconnectingwithpeers.

TheYouthHubisanoutof-school-timeprogramof WhiteBirchCentercreated

toaddressservicegapsand interestsforolderyouthin thecommunity.Inputfrom studentsatHennikerCommunitySchoolandJohn StarkRegionalHighSchool helpedguidebothprogrammingandthedesignofthe space.Primarilyservingstudentsingrades5-8,theHub willofferrecreation,arts, homeworksupport,mentoring,leadershipdevelopment,wellnessactivities andsupervisedsocialtime inasafe,supportiveenvironment.Additionalworkshops,professionaldevelopmentinitiatives,project space,andvolunteerand communityengagementopportunitieswillalsobe availableforhighschoolstudents.

ThePierceManse,the historicConcord homeofNewHampshire’sonlyU.S.president, FranklinPierce,opensfor guidedtoursonMay28.The MansewillbeopenThursdaysthroughSaturdays10 a.m.to3p.m.throughOctober24.Reservationsare notrequired.

FranklinPiercewasPresidentoftheUnitedStates from1853to1857andisthe onlyNewHampshireresidenttobeelectedtothe country’shighestoffice.
