Starry Starry Weekend

opkinton’s Starry Starry Weekend celebrates all things community. From Friday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 7, there’s no shortage of fun, family-friendly events and activities to check out.

Begin the weekend on Friday with a candlelight tour of Historic Hopkinton Village, then gather on Saturday in Contoocook Village for the annual tree lighting with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Explore festive markets, handmade gifts, kids’ crafts, live music, and local food and drink across both villages.

–From holiday brunches to food trucks and farmers markets, the spirit of the season shines throughout the weekend.

Magic in the Park Saturday, Dec 6 from 5 – 7 p.m. | Riverway Park Join us in Riverway Park as the Hopkinton Woman’s Club serves hot chocolate and treats (donations accepted) beginning at 5 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at 5:30 p.m. Say hello, enjoy a free cookie, and drop off your letters for Santa!

The evening ends with the tree lighting at 6 p.m. in the gazebo. Don’t forget your camera for photos with the Clauses!

Granite State Ringers to spread holiday cheer

T

he Granite State Ringers, a Concordbased handbell choir, is pleased to announce its Holiday 2025 Concert Series, entitled “A Thousand Lights Are Lit,” featuring concerts at Living Hope Church in Laconia on Dec. 6, at Star Theatre in Kittery, Maine on Dec. 7, at Sandown Town Hall on Dec. 14 and at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Peterborough on Dec. 20. Led by director Joan Fossum, this holiday concert series will delight attendees with classic favorites as well as some new selections sure to please.

Granite State Ringers’ small ensemble, the Garage

Bell Band, has also announced its holiday concert series, “Peace.” Performances will be at Leach Library in Londonderry on Dec. 12 and at Kingston Library in Kingston on Dec. 13.

The Granite State Ringers was organized as a community handbell choir by Mary Divers and Joan Fossum in February of 2007 with the mission of promoting the art of handbell ringing. The choir is made up of ringers from communities throughout New Hampshire, southern Maine and northern Massachusetts.
